Guest Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Is there an away pub? Been warned off a few places, thinking just going for a few in town just don't wear colours. What will most Whites be doing? Watching it down a pub in Bolton?
leigh white Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Dont bother about the Spoons near the station, full of knobheads, and the bouncers wont let you in. I managed to get in because i was going to Telford. Dogheads were playing Plymouth the same day.
bolty58 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Elmander to play 'in the hole' as it were, which is where he plays for sweden and does pretty well. It's a more attacking line up than gary Megson usually provides but given that we haven't kept a clean sheet in the league all season we'll need to attack and score to get anything at all out of the game. With Wolves in a dip in form I think now would be the perfect time to really go after them from the off. Anyone on her agree? The place for smutty innuendo is 'Behind The Stands'. Ahem.
Horwich Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Is EyesRight a wind up? Always seems to be asking where everyone will be going. Note for Eyes Right : Fook off
Guest bwfcdan Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 More guff from the golds... "Bless - they are talking of taking over a Wetherspoons. FFS." "they are probably the smallest and worst club in the prem. Gartside wanted a Prem 2 because he knows they are heading for relegation... He ought to have a prem 4 because that is where they will end up" "I wouldn't like to be an away fan in the pubs in town. Might be ok if there's just 2-3 of you but any more and i'd say you'll be looking over your shoulder quite often." "As an outsider I can confirm Wolves is intimidating!!! and its been like that for years, i have alot of friends from different clubs from watching england and they all say the same." "I sincerely hope the SB give Bolton (in fact any team) as much vitriol as is humanely possible. The SB will be the twelth man on Saturday. Have to say, fair play to Bolton & Macginlay in those days, they had a decent side and knew what was required to win. Like it or not Bolton are one of the success stories of recent times." Finally a Wolves fan that talks sense "My only comment is I dislike Notlob as much as Albion." "More. I've said before that I don't hate the Albion - in a lot of ways they're very similar to us (except less successful, clearly) but Bolton, well, there's another matter. They're right up there with Birmingham in the LB list of most detested clubs ever. I don't do violence, but I could quite happily smack John McGinley one even today, even if it is so many years ago that the cheating (word that'll probably earn a ban) was around." So sad it's unbelievable
Gaz Nt Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Some intersting Facts: • Wolves and Bolton have met 112 times in the league. Wolves have won 48, Bolton 43 and there have been 21 draws. • Bolton have won their last two trips to Molineux, in 2001 and 2004. • Wolves have beaten Bolton only once in their last 11 attempts. Ade Akinbiyi scored the only goal in the second tier a decade ago. • There should be goals - Wolves have kept only one clean sheet so far this season, and Bolton are yet to keep any. Wolves • Mick McCarthy's men have lost their last three league games. • Wolves have 10 points from 14 league matches, one fewer than they had at this stage of their only other Premier League season 2003-04. • Wolves have scored only two goals during the opening 45 minutes of the 14 Premier League games to date. • If selected, Karl Henry will be making his 200th career league start, with Kevin Foley set to make his 100th appearance for Wolves. Bolton • Bolton have conceded 10 goals in their last three away games, including five against Aston Villa in their previous trip to the Midlands. • Gary Megson's side are the only club in the English Football League yet to keep a clean sheet. If they concede against Wolves, they will become only the fourth team in Premier League history to have conceded in each of their opening 14 matches. • The Trotters have played only five of the clubs in the bottom half of the table and won three of those games. EyesRight Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Is EyesRight a wind up? Always seems to be asking where everyone will be going. Note for Eyes Right : Fook off Bit harsh. Not been following Bolton on the road long and not visited many grounds, only 20. Just trying to see where fans go before a game for a drink and a sing-song 'cos its part and parcel of an away day. Apologies if I peed anyone off.
MickyD Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 can you understand the dilema though of someone on here naming Pub X as the one to head for and then a lurking Wolves member puts said info on his own site? That Wolf site already says we're talking about drinking in Wetherspoons . . . which I don't recall.
Athywhite_Mike Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Is it advisable to avoid wearing colours if going drinking in the City centre before kick off? My first visit to Wolves is this and I don't fancy walking into any trouble. I believe these wolves are a bit dodgy... Edited December 4, 2009 by Athywhite_Mike
