Superb find!! Obviously I’d love my Dad to be still alive (sadly at 105 it would be wishful thinking) but it’s stuff like this that rings so many bells about stuff he told me By 1945 he’d be

Dont really remember this .....I was 2 !

Remember it like it was yesterday. I was 11

State of the corner taking and crossing though. Pfft!! It’ll never catch on

Almost painful watching the quality of players we had then.

So relatively recent, yet seems so long ago.

A message for Evatt too- look what set pieces can do!

We've just scored from two

Maybe he does read the forum

We’ve stopped Craddocking about and finally got the ball in the box

Even managed to get the ball lodged in the stanchion, he's that good.

He really was an otherworldly player even at the tail end of his career.

I was just about to post this , it's an extremely frayed memory for me and I'm sure I remember Fairclough rag dolling him . I think big Gerry run up when it had kicked off and started grappling with Keith Curle or Iwan Robert's.

I wonder why someone born in Belfast in the 1970s just happens to be hard as nails.

Few goalmouth scrambles - enjoyable game

This just popped up on my feed

Remember the game being on TV

Loved that kit

I watched the game on TV in a car dealership.

My brother worked there, and no one was in, so the game was on.

Fine performance if I remember correctly, in horrendous conditions.

Cracking pic that. I remember the drive home from Burnden that day, my old man, old school gent, usually pretty quiet but totally different with anything to do with the Wanderers. He was belting out the "Oh Frankie, Frankie" tune for most of the drive home. I think it may have been the first game after we'd signed Frank permanently.

Yes that’s the one. Went for a friends birthday with his dad. All very civilized. My day took me to the next home game and stood in Paddock next to away fans. A very different experience but just as good. 👍
