Phil Gartside, Bolton chairman

"We are all stunned at the news of Gary. Not only was he a top-class professional but was a wonderful person who is very fondly remembered by all of us and our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family at this time."

Absolutely gutted. The man summed up everything great about our club at that time and will be sorely missed.

Don't dwell on the circumstances of his death and remember the fantastic player he was and all the great memories he gave to us.

A true legend - R.I.P. Gary Speed.

I'm sure I can think of better moments, but leaving his foot in on Gary Neville (then scoring a pen?), from which Neville never really returned, sticks in the mind
