Boothy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Yes, everyone who dislikes Amir Khan is fundementally basing their opinion on an underlying racial prejudice. Fuck me I don't know whose spouting the more ignorant shite on here. The fact of the matter is, he ruined a mans life by his wreckless driving. The bloke subsequently died due to his ill health. The colour of the drivers skin is irrelevant. I'd have the same opinion of anyone who gets behind the wheel and endangers life the way he did. I've seen him on the roads since in his Range Rover, he was still driving like a prick. But on the other hand, he has proven that he can get his head down. He's done his pilgrimage etc. Doesn't come across overly cocky in his interviews and has done his bit for charity. Boxing is a sport of egos. Harrison and Haye were far, far bigger bellends than Khan is. Imagine if he had an ego like Haye, then that apathy would ebb into disdain.
royal white Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Some of this is laughable. I really hope he wins, not just for his own sake, but to piss you lot off.
gonzo Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Thats right Hatton was a major embarrasment losing to 2 of the best pound for pound fighters ever to enter a ring. What happened to Khan when he got beat? he was promoted even more and got world title fights. Top guy who signs autographs? I was in his hotel room in London before he fought at the O2 ARENA he was playing on his X box whilst his mate was signing glove in his name. How many peoplew know of other boxers in this country that have been fighting for world titles and have have never had the publicity he has khan suffered a knock out alot of boxers wouldnt of recovered from. but he sorted himself out, knuckled down sorted his defence, and came back twice as strong.why this has anything to do with publicity is beyond me? his name was mud after that prescott knock out.everyone thought that was it,but he showed he had the bollocks to come back.
royal white Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Sorry if I am double posing on here having some connection problems. All I have said is about his publicity, even after hius defeat he was gfetting more press than people like Froch, then we have the likes of Murray, Mitchell, Macklin who have been fighting hard all these years who get nothing like the press he has had
gonzo Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Sorry if I am double posing on here having some connection problems. All I have said is about his publicity, even after hius defeat he was gfetting more press than people like Froch, then we have the likes of Murray, Mitchell, Macklin who have been fighting hard all these years who get nothing like the press he has had totally agree with you,all you named are top,top fighters, but nowhere near khans standards at the minute in my opinion.
Garrp Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Do you think he would get the publicity he gets if he was white? there have been so many top rate boxers over they years who have had nothing like the national press he gets, its a fkin joke Name me a boxer as talented as Khan who didnt get the press. I can name you two Carl Froch and David Haye Guess what, one was black, one was white it had absolutely nothing to do with race, it had everything to do with their promoters but dont let facts get in the way of a good rant
Boothy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Sorry if I am double posing on here having some connection problems. All I have said is about his publicity, even after hius defeat he was gfetting more press than people like Froch, then we have the likes of Murray, Mitchell, Macklin who have been fighting hard all these years who get nothing like the press he has had That's because he's a top, top talent. The biggest names in the game are / have been saying he is top bollocks and going all the way. It's like saying Elvis Presley shouldn't have recieved press 'cos he was a fat bastard conscientous objector.
royal white Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 totally agree with you,all you named are top,top fighters, but nowhere near khans standards at the minute in my opinion. Maybe not but 2 years ago maybe so, but they were never inj the papers yet Khan always was
KP Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Yes, everyone who dislikes Amir Khan is fundementally basing their opinion on an underlying racial prejudice. Fuck me I don't know whose spouting the more ignorant shite on Who said that? We replied to someone who said he isn't English and another who falsely claimed he gets more publicity because of his race.
Garrp Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Maybe not but 2 years ago maybe so, but they were never inj the papers yet Khan always was again promoter not race ffs

Boothy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Who said that? We replied to someone who said he isn't English and another who falsely claimed he gets more publicity because of his race. Ok, i'll read the thread back to front as well so its a level playing field.
royal white Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 again promoter not race ffs And the promoters are cashing in on his race
royal white Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Sorry garrp thts come on your post by mistake
Theboybell Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 does he still sport the Bolton badge on his shorts?
anewman Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 does he still sport the Bolton badge on his shorts? no hes fucked it off and I don't like him becuse of who he is and his attitude, I've been in his company, I've seen him in the gym, he is your typical halliwell resident type with no respect for anyone and don't even accuse me of being racist
Guest bwfcdan Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Couldn't give a shit was colour he is, he's a Bolton fan so i want him to win.
whiteboy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Surely there is no debate the BBC were wanking themselves silly over Khan when he got the Olympic Silver, partly due to his age and talent, and partly due to him being a British Muslim. Frankie Gavin, for one, Britain's only ever World Amateur Champion (a harder tournament than the Olympics) never got anything like that attention - maybe because he is a white, brummie chav? They rather annoyingly showed his brother boxing in the Commonwealth games for Pakistan ahead of the GB squad. He is certainly much more likeable now he has been sparked out and is fighting some genuinely good opposition his own size. No-one ever doubted his talent, only his chin. He will win tonight on a wide points decision and good luck to him.
no balls Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Couldn't give a shit was colour he is, he's a Bolton fan so i want him to win. I'm sure Harold Shipman was seen on the odd occasion in the Manny Road North.
L/H White Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) I disliked him, not for his race or out, just come across as an arrogant fucker in his earlier career. Anyway he's grown on me since he's KO defeat to Prescott, I'll be staying up tonight and hope he wins. Also a great UFC card tonight which is on ESPN, anyone watch it? maaarsh Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Sadly this will be a walk in the park for Amir.
aidybwfc Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) Back to the topic i wasn't his biggest fan but he's won me over with some of his fights you can't knock the lad I think he will be too good tonight and win in under 6 rounds Edited December 10, 2011 by aidybwfc

If I can keep my eyes open then yes, otherwise it'll be recorded for Sunday. Jon Jones is an absolute machine, and I can't see any area where Machida can match him. Some good fights on the undercard too. Am looking forward to seeing if Hominik can sport an even better hematoma than last time I saw him fight, gruesome! For what it's worth, I live in Halliwell, and Amir Khan has always seemed a nice lad.
