Happy Wanderer Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Khan boxed it all wrong and let Peterson boss the ring.
MickyD Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The ref has been taking lessons from howard webb on how to be centre of attention
kent_white Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 So where does he go from here then? Stay where he is and try to win his titles back? Stick to the plan and move up a weight to try his luck there? Jack it all in and get a job delivering Betterware catalogues? Some big decisions to make.

Think it will be a rematch or move up a weight, I think the clash with mayweather is now out the window for a while
only1swanny Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 probably what he needed early on in his career. Seems to be a lot of British boxers who suffer a defeat and it wrecks them.
whiteboy Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 not a robbery. petersen was a lot stronger than i expected
hillofdaub Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 our former world champ doesnt do rematches ,ask presscott,,,
anewman Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Just thrown his titles away. Give two points away and make it easy for the judges in a tight fight. At least a few on here will be happy now that Bolton has lost it's world champion! Darn right, I'm fuckin ecstatic
Ben Der Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 beaten by a better fighter who is also a nobody,If mayweather happens now ill show me arse. what would mayweather get out of such a bout(apart from the easiest 3 minutes of his career)? Hopefully now people will realise he aint all that, he is just another half decent boxer...not the next best thing.
Pablo Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I though he was robbed. In almost every other title fight, the callenger needs to do something special, and beat te champ by a margin, to get the pooints win, and even with the penalty points, I dont think he did that. Khan is still special, and I think IS very special. Most top fighters have lost fights.
gonzo Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 just watched it. never did like the asian cunt.
gonzo Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) on a serious note, what a bruising fight. like said above,he let peterson boss the ring...dont really think he had an option in the matter to be fair. few years ago khan would of been knocked out in the second with such an agressive fighter on his home soil. just hope keeps his head straight and has him a re match. long, long way off even thinking of someone like mayweather. as much as i admire khan as a boxer, mayweather would punish him im afraid....big style. Whizz Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 pablos reet. The ref should of stopped Peterson leading with his head. Soft points to lose but he was only avoiding a headbut.
Spider Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Just watched it Khan got beat fair n fucking square. if a mon comes at you with his head down, hit the mon's fucking head. i was 100% behind him until one of his hangers on started waving his paki-stan flag all over the shop. way to get the brits behind you, you fucking nobber. Mayweather would make him look like a windmilling 4 year old. He's dodged a bullet.

L/H White Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Whoever said he got a robbed, as Garrp would say, you're all plant pots. The ref controlled the fight very well. They'll be a rematch where I'm sure Roach will revise the tactics. Edited December 11, 2011 by bwfcryan86

gonzo Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Where I hope he gets twatted again. do you think he got twatted last night?
frank_spencer Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 do you think he got twatted last night? he beat himself last night. if he'd not had those 2 points deducted he'd have won. stupid boy

I mean, it wasn't like the ref didn't warn him, I thought her give him more than enough chances. Edited December 11, 2011 by bwfcryan86

I mean, it wasn't like the ref didn't warn him, I thought her give him more than enough chances. i think so but peterson knew the ref was warning Khan so kept giving khan no choice but to push or hold his head down. it was a close fight but not a way you'd like to see a title change hands for both Khan or Peterson

Maggie Tate Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The only conceivable way you could claim that was a fair and square victory was if you agree with both points deductions, which only a martian would. Give him those two points back and he wins a unanimous decision. If Peterson had come over here and had those points taken off the American boxing public would be in uproar. 2011 in boxing has seen far too many fellas getting done over by judges or officials on their opponent's patch. Hopkins, Agbeko, Chisora, now Khan, just from the top of my head. It stinks. By any sensible criteria applied without bias by knowledgeable observers, Khan won a close fight last night.

The last 6 rounds, Khan looked like a showboating, 1 dimensional popinjay. He lacks the class, but not the talent. A bit more discipline and he'd have won by a mile. The other corner knew he'd foul if pushed into it and played a blinder, tactically at least. I still think he'll go a long way, but needs to wind his neck in. Showboating and arrogance are fine but he needs to know when to scrap too.
