knight loves defending a throw in, he either loves to head the ball out for one or send a 50 yard ball out for one.

Posted

That's his biggest problem for me

same here

one clumsy fucker

always sliding in, in dangerous positions

and that header V Everton that let Saha in, half arsed at best

I don't think he's arsed most of the time

Posted

2 things

1 knight isn't particularly slow

2 you can look slow if your positioning, reading the gqme and reaction times aren't great; It isn't always just about pace

Behave....

...I've seen North Atlantic Oil Tankers with quicker turning circles than that dopey lump.

I've said it before and I still believe that Knight doesn't have a lack of pace

His positioning, decision making and reaction times are poor, which often make him overall slower, therefore looking like he has less pace

I'd put 4 figures on him clearly beating Wheater in a straight 100 yard dash

None of this means I think he's good enough or better than Wheater BTW, I'm just saying it's not all about pure pace

Agree with all that, positioning, decision making and reacting comments are bang on Like you say in a 100m sprint he may be ok the first two clips on MOTD against everton was knight all over the shop leading to two Everton chances Edited by tarian1979

whatever else he can or can't do, he won't put his head in where it hurts

not good enough ina centreback, imo

i remember stoke when we won with those taylor goals

first half, balls into the box, i was 20 yards away almost at pitch level, and i swear he was turning his back on the ball

Seems our star player ain't worth the Terry millions????

Chelsea are hopeful of completing the deal for Bolton Wanderers' Gary Cahill today following delays over the buying club's insistence that new financial fair play regulations (FFP) mean they are prepared to pay him a relatively low ? by their standards ? ?50,000 a week.

It has meant a longer than usual negotiation with Cahill and his agent, John Seasman, who had been taken aback by Chelsea's original offer and Andre Villas-Boas's announcement at the end of last month that the two parties were "miles apart". The club agreed a fee of around ?6m with Bolton long ago but wages have taken much longer.

Chelsea regard their ?50,000-a-week opening offer as the way forward. With the pressure of complying with FFP, introduced from last summer, the club told Cahill that the days of them handing out contracts in the ?90,000-plus-a-week category to anything other than the biggest stars are over.

In the past, it has been the negotiations with the selling club that have proved the sticking point in Chelsea transfer sagas ? such as the protracted negotiations with Lyons for Michael Essien and later Florent Malouda ? but with Cahill it has been the issue of his wages.

Chelsea are not prepared to return to the days when big contracts were a matter of course even for those players who were not considered integral to the team. The club went through a big clear-out of high earners when they released the likes of Michael Ballack, Juliano Belletti, Deco and Joe Cole.

Recent additions to the squad, such as Oriol Romeu and Juan Mata, have been placed on a new, more modest pay scale, with the recognition that the club have to make inroads into the huge wage bill, ?172m in the last annual accounts. Frank Lampard and John Terry ? who earn around ?150,000 a week ? are both on deals signed in the days when the club were more willing to pay big money to keep their biggest names.

However, there is no prospect of either of those players being offered new deals at comparative rates when their current contracts expire ? Lampard's in the summer of next year and Terry's a year later in 2014. The club are still battling against a perception within the game that they will hand out the kind of lucrative contracts they once did. They have also found their supremacy in the market for academy players challenged by Manchester City.

Chelsea have allowed the French winger Ga?l Kakuta to go on loan at French Ligue 1 club Dijon. He has had two loan spells in the Premier League already, first with Fulham and then with Bolton, with whom he spent the first half of the season

I heard from a usually very reliable source that he gets ?50k at the Reebok. Not much incentive to go during the transfer window. His negotiating stance will be far stronger with no fee at the end of the season. He still plays for England and still gets the same wages, so he dips out on a few champions league games.........Hope they up his wages offer, we need the money for team strengthening for the run in.

chelsea won't offer him any more in the summer if its about compliance with FFP

and no way is cahill on 50k a week basic at bolton

the number of games we win, i'd not be shocked to hear he shops at netto

Coyle reported as saying that a deal is no closer to be finalised on skysports.com

It's going to be another last minute job giving us no time to get a decent replacement in

well i hope if no deal is done by the weekend he plays against the scum

To me it seems extremely strange, that if he isn't on ?50,000 a week at BWFC, and Chelski are offering him that, plus win bonuses (I assume), and he is not willing to accept that, is there another agenda?

Are they not guaranteeing him 1st team football?

Does he really want to go to Chelski ?

Is his agent pulling the strings ?

Does he &/or his agent expect another club (MUFC OR LFC) to gazzump CFC at last minute?

Why did he (reportedly) have a meeting with Coyle & Gartside yesterday?

Is he back tracking?

all very odd IMO

I'd up the anti- either sign by the weekend or don't bother. It's doing no-one any good. Let others know we might take a slightly smaller offer.

It's dragging on and could seriously fook us up if he goes at the death with no time or replacements available.

I just wish they'd get on with it, why does it take so long? Cahill's rather being greedy or Chelsea are being stingy and Abramovich doesn't want to give him what he wants. I don't want to repeatedly hear Bolton are selling players, I want to hear about Bolton bringing players in, it's inevitable that's he's going, so just get on with it, the longer it goes on, I can see a positive, as Cahill will play more games for us, but if we need the money to bring players in, then it's best to do it asap for obvious reasons.

Chelsea ain't the best team in the Premiership anymore, but still it's a much bigger club than most and you get to play alongside your England centre back partner and further claim your place at Euro 2012.

I'd rather he stayed, not sure what 7 Million will really do, but it's better than 0 in the summer, when our defence is poor even with Cahill in the side anyway, so selling is the best option and it's already the 12th Jan 2012, Cahill as been leaving this club for longer than just the transfer window, it wouldn't surprise me if he eventually moves on in 2016 or summat :/
