gonzo
I aquaplaned from longridge to clitheroe ealier today, water flowing down the valley at hurst green like a river. That road will be closed by now I should imagine. If it throws down what it says it’s going to throw down in the next 18 hours it’s sandbag time again for me. Yesterday, t'other half said she drove through a "wall of water for around 8 miles". She described it as the heaviest rain she'd ever driven through. Took the hounds down to fields in Radcliffe this morning, and needed full water proof kit and boots. Was quite enjoyable for a change! As you say, plenty coming over night too. Have some of that you cunts.

Giving the old swede pelters earlier, almost hail like; softer obviously, but bastard fast. Gravity seems to have increased during these intense periods. leigh white
A monsoon in pie eater land this morning, a swift ride to Lancaster on the train and sat in the beer garden still dripping in the sunshine.

gonzo
...Well if it floods here, which it certainly looks like it’s going to, that will be only the second time since 1967 that it’s flooded. The other time was 2 year ago. There’s the tail end of a hurricane heading our way on Thursday too
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 29, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted September 29, 2019 Small streams running off fields all over the place, where there aren't any normally. Rain not as heavy as yesterday morning, but continuous. Shite.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted September 29, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted September 29, 2019 Just at the entrance to Bradshaw Cricket Club is a river with what's normally a four foot high weir. At the moment you can't actually tell there's a weir there. By heck, it's proper fast too.

Rural bit on back side of Thornton on the edge of stanah. The river wyre estuary isn’t far away and it’s tributaries are full the brim, one of which runs behind my house. It’s the drains that are the issue, Water is flowing out of the actual grids 🙈
