gonzo Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 The Gonzo seems to have forgotten that whilst the formation helped us defend down the middle it fucked our fullbacks over on and off the ball, left Medo and Spearing with nowhere to go forwards with the ball and helped nullify our attacking threat It was shite! Totally agree it was shite, but what was the option? I'm not into getting all pro zone like you and others mate, but like I've said we restricted them to one clear chance. That was the intention,to do that and nick a goal in the process, hence the two up top. He could have quite easily gone 4-5-1,packed the midfield and hoped for the best, but he picked what he did to try and get the best of both worlds. It just didn't quite come off. With eagles in there instead of chungy it would have. It was shite yes,but I reckon come may looking back at a scrappy 1-0 defeat by the runaway champions may not look too shabby after all. Quote
Traf Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 On paper, a 1-0 defeat to the likely league winners isn't a disaster, but this can't be far off our worst team we've had since we moved to the Reebok. Quote
xxxxxx Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 We played shit and was still the better side. I don't think QPR will walk the league. They needed a last minute goal to beat Ipswich, and was lucky to not have had 2 pens against them against Sheff Wed. Quote
coppullwhite Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 If dougies going to play the system he had in mind today, he needed two wingers, cam and a cdm with two strikers like diamond, just didn't work without the wingers, they ruined us on the wings because there was no cover and and attacking we had no threat but chungy Quote
superkev Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 It wasn't the result or the manner of the defeat it's just I really have struggled to see what makes any of our managers pick a player with the worst ball control in the history of the game! Pushing him up front when we need a goal is beyond idiotic and completely depressed me even before he predictably did what everyone knew he would and waste our chance of a point I don't know how Knight receiving the ball on the touchline and punting it over is wasting our chance of a point. You talk as though he was a yard out from goal. Quote
Astley White Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 If we dont have a win by full time against Yeovil at home its time to panic. Quote

white noise Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I'm afraid that Uncle Eddie will decide whether we challenge for promotion or not, with any signings that he is prepared to sanction or ambitious loans that we may bring in. This side needs adding to, address the weaknesses and we can challenge, don't back Dougie and it will be a tough season. Quote
Horwich Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 We havent backed a manager for about 4 seasons, so its not going to start now. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 We played shit and was still the better side.Let's not get giddy. Quote
burnden Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Thought ream had a decent game, Lee was gash again, beckford couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, spearing worked hard, also thought bogdan tried to distribute quicker but time and again baptiste had his back to him. Dougie says: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBL3bbdPomo Quote

Too right on many counts Quote
Carlos Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 They had 3 or 4 easy balls into the box, I said it only need to drop to one of theirs for a tap-in and we are fucked. Exactly what happened. Quote

Carlos Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 And apart from that we restricted them well, I just thought we put too much effort into dealing with Austin than a home team should. Every team has goalscorers, we need to play our own game. Quote
snowball Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 They really aren't / weren't that good and I don't think they'll walk the league on that showing This "we nearly did it" and accepting of a tepid 1-0 loss at home is puzzling. Nay, it's ridiculous Not as ridiculous as the over reaction by some. I have seen worse games and worse Bolton performances. On that showing I don't think QPR will walk the league but they are one of the better sides we will play. If Beckford had shown anything like a strikers finish or Medo's shot gone in then we would have got at least a draw (Bogdan had nothing to do first half) and there would be no hysterical reaction to the system we played. Quote
captainmed Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 [/url] That's not the talk of a manager of a club that were joint second favourites for promotion at the start. He makes it sound like staying up will be a success. He was watching a different game to me and the Sky pundits as well. Quote

Not at all Quote
superkev Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Ngog not fit, Beckford not fit, Moritz not fit, eagles not fit, Pratley suspended, mavies and Holden out for ages. Once our big players are in and sharp we will be a match for anyone. In the meantime we need some transfers in preferably a goalscorer that is fit. Quote

Blind optism apart I don't think anyone actually had us joint favourites did they? I think he's spot on with all he says there. We did pass the ball superbly in the first half,we did hit the post, they did score with their one and only chance and they did then make it near impossible to make any kind of inroads. And we have just played 3 of the best teams in the division. Bloke tells it how it is. He would have looked a dam sight more stupid if he started ballooning how we are joint favourites wouldn't he? And having hall and chungy in the positions would have been suicude. Can you imagine ream on his own in the centre!! The time and space Simpson and hill had was comical. HomerJay Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Or being wrong side, is that lees fault or freedmans Serious question by the way. Which I guess we won't ever know as it depends how freedman told him to play Quote
Wullie Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 On another note, no team will bring less fans to the Reebok than QPR...piss poor following for a Saturday Quote

Which I guess we won't ever know as it depends how freedman told him to play I don't think he's equipped to play in there; players bounce him of too easily; it was so cramped in that middle it just wasn't his game I'm an N'Gog fan but I thought he was equally as poor today Quote
