Pass to our fullback? It's no surprise his pass completion is so high because 90% of his passes are backwards. I'm all for keeping the ball but for me our wingers should be the ones creating things.

 

Stats don't tell the full story, they don't tell you how many of those have gone back to the defence to then be punted forwards and lost.

In fact lets use some more numbers, 0 goals and 3 assist in 25 games this season! Backs up my point, he's useless.

 

edit: In 21 games, at least half of which are at centre back, Tim Ream also has 3 assists.

He had more touches, passes, tackles, interceptions, ACCURATE long balls & crosses than anyone else!

Garp not sure if you went but that's not what I saw his first 5 touches he gave the ball away his set piece deliveries were terrible and he was removed from that duty halfway through second half and worst of all he did not track the runner for the goal lazy and unforgivable, his intensity is way below what it was after Christmas last year.

Just like his opinion that Zat Knight should be captain at the start of the season? That's going well isn't it, 1st dropped and now he's brought back in he's not kept the captaincy.

 

Suggests Dougie's changed his opinion and funnily enough he now has the same opinion that I had from the start.

 

I'm not saying I know more than Freedman at all but I know enough about football to watch the majority of games this season and see what he offers going forward, the frailties that he has going backwards, the problems that he causes our fullback behind him and the fact that he has no end product to make my own mind up that he is shite.

A wide midfielder offers his fullback some protection, he doesn't.

 

I actually think his best position is in behind the striker because he can try to pick a pass instead of beating a man, we just have 2 players that are better than him at doing that too.

Honestly I can't remember if it was all just hype. I think I remember him being good, I can't remember if he used to beat a man or not but if he was as good as I think he was before the injury then he is nowhere near that level now, not even close

I can't believe spearing played as much as he did for Liverpool but he's good enough for us he gives the ball away a lot lot more than I'd expect though looks a better player with mark davies

I thought Medo was unlucky not to be in yesterday, was better than Spearing for me but I wasn't surprised when Spearing was back in. Spearing worked hard enough again, though he was frustrating, when he made a couple of really good tackles and interceptions he immediately gave it away with a rushed pass. Whatever the stats with Chungy (what's the difference between a 'key pass' and an assist?), for me there's no end product with him and far too often when he gets in good positions he panics and makes the wrong decision or hasn't the confidence to put his foot through the ball and finish properly. I'd have had Eagles on for the last 15, his more direct running at Halford, who's been switched to full back and already yellow carded, may have been the difference

Finally a mention for Zat Knight, I give the lad enough shit and I believe that the majority of the time he fully deserves it but yesterday he had a very very good game

He did okay.

 

However, their goal - Spearing doesn't go with the runner but, if your centre half is going to take up a position seven yards behind the rest of the back four, it has to be central enough to snub out any danger.
