mickbrown Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 No, I know how we play by listening, sometimes watching, stats, and knowing how the game works. The last is something that a lot of people seem to not be able to grasp, possibly because their views are "skewed" by emotion at the game. Bloody hell. Just when you think you've seen it all on here. DomRepWanderer Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What a sad, sexist comment, for what it's worth I would take someone who watches us regularly comments over somebody who pretends to watch us, any day of the week, you really don't help yourself. Quote

Not really trying to help myself tbh. I honestly can't have a rational discussion on here (save for a few people) and so I might as well just lower myself to the common denominator. Bum sex and titties. Edited January 15, 2014 by SnoopJohnnyJohn Quote

No mate a lot of your post's would make sense if you were actually at the match, and I am far from having a go with that, but I don't see many sexist comments apart from nb's mates, but she expects that, and accepts it, snoopy just tone it down a tad. If I was at the game, you'd accept my points. Because I'm not, my points are invalid? I'm not trying to cause an argument here but I've seen some people raise the same points as me but they don't get shot down because they were there. The mind boggles. Quote

"Lower yourself to the common denominator"?? and best of all "rational discussion".... ROFLCOPTER! Coming from the bloke trying to justify why he knows more about how we've played by not watching us as his emotions aren't skewing his (non) view of the game Priceless Edited January 15, 2014 by jules_darby Quote
no balls Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 How dare you! say something sexist, please Quote
bwfc2003 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Opinions can be skewed for a variety of reasons. Being there, you get into the match, into the emotion, and obviously you're more invested than someone listening from 7,000 miles away. That I won't ever deny. It's the same as the Knight hate. Facts are that, a couple of mistakes aside, he's not been bad since he's come back into the side. Still, people will pick on any mistake he makes because of a smile or two he exchanged with Stoke players 2 seasons ago. A couple of mistakes - Fuck Off Quote

only1swanny Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 pundits watch the game on tv screens. therefore, they don't know what they are talking about.. makes perfect sense... Quote
HomerJay Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Garpo watches loads of football on a telly which explains his total lack of understanding of anything football related and most certainly his judgement of a player. Quote
Carlos Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Contradiction there, I think you get more out of a game on TV but can only judge a player live. Quote

I think you get more of a feel for wanting to punch Jack Dearden and the camp DJ on Tower who's on before after and at half time FWIW since we moved back from ESL to WSU, Gumbo and I have commented regularly that there's a definite better view of what's going on in the wider areas than just where the "action" is and there's a definite better feel for how teams are set up etc Perhaps why BSA used to start off sat in the stands and used to move downstairs when he really needed to? jules_darby Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 But he only sat two thirds of the way up the lower stand Yeah I know; sorry I wasn't clear - the 2 points were linked but I wasn't saying they're the same; there's a different view from the Director's box than from the touchline - as there is from lower and upper tier of course..... Is there a link between how far you sit up the stand and how skewed your view is? What about if you're one of those who listens to the radio whilst whilst you watch the match. Does this counter any skewiness? Quote

And what if you're part of the ESLSC and watch it on the screens?? Is the anti-skewing by not being in the stands tempered by the flat, watery lager? Only our man in the know Snoopy will have the answers! Quote
