Watched it last night. Rotherham. Hopefully, another 3 point away day in Yorkshire.

Brings back memories. Millmoor with a well known Bolton face hanging from a steel girder in the cantilevered 'away' end watching the game whilst the Keystone Cops panicked beneath him with a tarpaulin to catch him if he fell.

Rotherham was always a good turnout

Just hope its a Saturday game

There's no way the new ground will allow that atmosphere you got under that low roof

I remember the Tony Cunningham 2-2 game which pretty much cost us automatic promotion in 91 - and then the horror of the Tranmere play-off. Must have been 4 thousand Wanderers there and it was deafening. The game also sticks in my mind for overhearing one Neanderthal explain to his mate that we'd actually lost the game cos goals from a black man didn't count. Though he put it more crudely than that. Worth remembering sometimes how far we've come and that it wasn't all wonderful in the good old days.

Earliest proper memory of an away game that.

My dad perched me at the front near a big yellow ambulance barrier in the bottom corner. Sure we had some of the side.

Did Southend go up that season?? Seem to remember that being a big game at Burnden.

Cambridge were in and around us too if I remember rightly. Bury and those ferrel scumbags as well.

Who did tranmere play in their semi??

Yeah, Cambridge and Southend went up automatically - we lost over Easter at Cambridge. And Grimsby pipped us for third automatic. Hard to believe a decade later we had players of Youri and Gudni and Bruno and Jay Jay's quality playing for us.

Just checked, Tranmere played Brentford in their semi.

You must've been stood near me because I can remember that dickhead. Ugly bastard with long hair and a moustache? "Stop celebrating, it doesn't count when a ***** scores". Knobhead.

Rotherham has actually been a really shit place for Bolton over the years. Only won their once in 15 visits, none of which have been in my lifetime. In fact I can only remember a couple of draws. The 2-2 mentioned above (which felt like a defeat) and an unlikely 1-1 in the early 80s, with us down to ten men and Wayne Foster ending up in goal.

Agreed but it shortens the odds and that BNP vote has gone somewhere - look at the numbers. it 's the company you keep.

There's racist in every party in every walk of life but I'm sure Farage isn't one and I'm sure Cameron and Milliband are not racist but I will bet all 3 parties have members who are racist. And I take exception to your last comment.

Cambridge are at the same level as Chorley now aren't they? I'm sure they have a derby game now against Cambridge City or something like that

Mad how far teams drop

Are you thinking of Cambridge City ?   Still in Southern League Premier, I think; one level below Chorley now.

I was at this one, walked up Shakerley Rd in Tyldesley with Foster when we to home.#starstruck

It'll be Histon who got in the Conference a few years back, it'd be like Bolton playing Horwich RMI in a league game

Probably a UKipper now that racism has gone legit again.

Racism has gone legit? Where? Russia perhaps?

I must have it wrong. I thought UKIP's platform was sensible control of immigration and offering a referendum to the British people on EU membership.

Clearly I have missed something so if you wouldn't mind enlightening me. Cheers in advance.

Deep into injury time they equalised, agree it felt as though we had lost. Always remember queuing to get in, the police had a load of pictures of faces they didn't want to let in. Massive following and very loud.

I remember leaving the ground and there was a woman in our end pissing against a wall whilst her friends tried to form some kind of protective cordon around her.
