not now

football clubs dont need 2 bob rags

Maybe. But they need their fan base and need to stop giving the impression that they don't give a shit.

Local media for a town club in the second tier is far more important than you might think. Need to reconnect with fans as John McGinlay and Muamba have said today. You don't do that by ignoring the people who give you the most press coverage.

Spot on mate.

The club is like a closed book half the time, which frustrates most supporters.

It's imperative the club now builds back bridges with supporters because Ive never known the gap be so big.

Maybe folk would have a bit more patience with Gartisde if we actually knew what the remit was.

I really don't get anti illes and dearden stuff, they said tonight getting even the most simplest of details out of the club is a nightmare.

There a few bitter fuckers knocking about tonight and the toys are well and truly out of pram.

Iles has been really good the past few weeks. Explaining what he is and isn't being told.

Fact Gartside is not talking to our local media is a disgrace IMO. No wonder fans are angry if he just ignores the chance to put his side across or at least give some idea of direction.

A lot of the Iles slagging off on here is done by the same posters who knock just about everyhing about our town in general.

For someone who hasn't got anything to fill a couple of pages every night if he pisses the club off Iles has been brave of late. Initially it was all read between the lines, subtle stuff but the back page of last night's BEN was as fine a kicking as ever dished out to Graham "Turnip" Taylor & the like.

Apologies if this is elsewhere but Iles on Bolton News blog saying that something 'happened overnight' that triggered Dougie's departure today... All in paper tomorrow.

Seems correct, as all seems a bit odd with the timing.

Something to do with the article about him saying 'the players aren't good enough' - player revolt and it kicking off today?

This makes sense with two Iles comments - 'the article was ultimately the straw that broke the camels back'

Also... The announcement tonight about the new staff was made to sky but local media were snubbed, could that be because of the article? The club saw their arse?

Just my opinion and putting two and two together

Its because of the article in the bolton news regarding the court case a few months back which the ben had to apologise for.

imo

Agree that Iles has been first class of late.

And the club cannot expect him to tow a party line all the time.

There seems to be a bunker like mentality at the mo.

Can't understand who they have managing the team to-morrow.

Andy Hughes and Lee Turner? Has Jimmy turned them down?

I think it's just as well for those running BWFC that the BN doesn't have investigative journos like the Washington Post did back in the day.

Players turned on DF after "not good enough comments" forced ED/PG's hands.

Strange how Two ex trotters (Lynch and That Rangers young en) both saying DF "killed" back room atmosphere and treated some like shit...

More to come me thinks
