The stick they get is fuckig scandalous. Self pity etc? Fuck off...we had a player have heart attack on the pitch and bolton fans plus this place went into over hyped meltdown. Folk putting flowers at a memorial for a bloke that wasnt even dead. Would like to see how much "self pity" we would revel in if we had lost 96 fans at a football match. Sorry mate, but whilst agreeing with some of what you say there is a lot you leave out, with both heysel and hillsborough the role of the fans can not be ignored, not those that died but the 'others' that are ignored that had been drinking that did have no tickets. There but for the grace god you say for us and many othe teams but the fans did play a part. Unfortunately though I lived in Liverpool for years and they believe all this crap. Till this season they'd strut round like rush and Dalglish had won them the double last Saturday. Arrogant and condescending like they were doing you a favour chatting to a fan of little old Bolton. I hate stevie g. Bloke should be in prison, his mates all got criminal records for aiding and abetting an assault that he never committed?? But we're all supposed to love him and be desperate to see him lift the tittle?! Crap! Unfortunately they do see themselves as victims and love to hunt out a disaster in case a Liverpool fan was in it and they can show 'what great fans they are' with a silence. Regarding hilsbrough though I knew quite a few who'd had family or friends die or be permanently disabled from it. With the evidence now the government and police fucked up. I'd be pretty pissed off if i was them. Fans played a part but it was indicative of a time when the culture was who gives a shit about fans. I hope the fa get shit for even playing the game there after previous semi's having the same problem. I think to a certain extent it could have been anyone. And the ones who died were innocent victims who have seen little respect till recently from the powers that be.... as a side note city fans have ironically got nearly as arrogant as Uniteds must be a manc thing.
