globaldiver Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Following JJ Oghani's appearance on the cricket, I noticed last night that a former designer of Wanderers shirts (c 1994, the red and blue striped time) was on that reality TV painting programme last night Quote
gonzo Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Someone has spray painted BWFC on a wall near the river wyre pub on amoundernes way near the Carlton junction. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) It's nearly Oscars time, and soon it could be BWFC lighting up Tinseltown, plans are currently being finalised to bring the story of the Wartime Wanderers to the silver screen...Filming will commence on location at Crommy Lodges in late March, the film will star the star of 'The Chase', Bradley Walsh, joining him will be 'Chase' co-stars; Steve McQueen, Kim Basinger and that black fella who favvers Lou Gosset Jnr but with NHS specs, the main role of Wanderers' captain, Harry Goslin, will be taken up by Adam Beale (picture below) of 'Eastenders' fame. Youri McAnespie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Glibness aside, some of the real story can be read here, a couple of good photos too. http://www.theobservationpost.com/blog/?p=685 Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Howard off the Halifax adverts? Howard's a pretty chunky bloke ain't he? A 'twink' to use one of Gonzo's phrases (I googled it ) - Nah, these blokes, Lou Gossett and the other one are wiry, he's the clever bloke, 'a chaser' (this isn't gay slang, it's sommat to do with the programme, I don't watch it) anyhow, he's playing the role Pele played... edit: this is him. Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Once got sent to Germany to spend a week at one of the companies biggest suppliers. I was to stay in a little apartment on a vineyard. Knew that I was going to spend an evening with the MD of the company, though my german was shite. Took a wanderers scarf I had worn at wembley for the sherpa van final, and presented the chap with it. He was made up, wore it all night while we got pissed. Reckon I converted one Dresden resident to the cause Quote
Barnstoneworth White Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 On the programme on the other week about Guy Martin in India there was some kid wearing a Bolton shirt. Aye, I saw that too. There was a question on University Challenge last week about a historian called Norman Davies. The bloke is a legend in Poland apparently, has lectured all over the world and happens to be a Bolton fan. Probably the most famous Bolton fan you've never heard of? http://www.normandavies.com/?lang=en Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I've got a friend called Martin who is a guy and I also support Bolton. Does he only come out in early November? Quote

Zico Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Most random one I can recall was a mate sent a link to me from some US news site where some fat black lad from some hick backwater had been arrested for a murder or something There was a pic of him being hauled out his front door with the blue away kit with the black and white stripe down middle Random Quote
Con Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 On pointless tonight there was a picture round, one cap wonders for the England football team. First pic was Gavin McCann, and another was Kevin Davies. The bloke picked the pic of Davies, but said it was Kevin Nolan. Quote
