This is in no way support for RFK but this could be said about many top government officials around the world, I think Covid was proof of that. Take our country for example, minister of travel/health/education …..you catch my drift, none of them have any experience in the said role. Surely something needs to change

Fully agree…..although at least you could say that currently in the defence of the UK the choice of appointee is limited as they have to be an MP (or a member of the lords), whereas in the US (I think)* the President can literally appoint anybody as a Secretary of State.  And for Health he really did appoint anybody.

* with congressional approval

Some guy on Newsnight tonight said if you check the pockets of people who die from lung cancer they are more likely to have matches in there than others. That is because they are more likely to be smokers , but banning matches will not tackle the causes of lung cancer.

He was the American medical guy who resigned the other week over the Kennedy/Trump influence.

They will have us drink bleach next.

The difference with Kennedy is that he has sacked all the experts and surrounded himself with more cranks.
What you at least see over here is, using the pandemic as an example there are serious scientists advising (albeit ignored at times)

I assume Tylenol have good lawyers.

Because I’d have thought the a President blaming a product invented in 1955 on causing a condition that was identified in 1903 might in some way be defamatory.

He is staggeringly, unendingly thick isn’t he?

I see President Thicko is speaking at the UN today.  I wonder if the world’s representatives will laugh at him again like last time. Personally I hope they all walk out instead.  Might send a message to the lying narcissist of the special distain humanity holds for him and his self-serving cronies.

Think it was identified later than that , also Tyenol is a brand name, Paracetamol was about well before Autism was diagnosed.

None of which make the RFK claims correct by the way.

I do think paracetamol is very much overused, if I have a headache and drink some water with or without it it tends to go in half an hour either way. That said if you have a fever and are pregnant then your temperature needs bringing down and paracetamol is the answer. Very dangerous to be throwing this kind of statement around with seemingly little evidence. Also targeting a brand rather than the generic is very odd.

Anyway, isn’t today that supposed “Rapture Day” when Christians will suddenly ascend into heaven?  Perhaps it will happen to Trumpy when he’s at the mic at the UN.  Here’s hoping 🤞

His comments on vaccines are even worse, the bloke is a conspiracy peddling wanker.

hes dangerous

we know theres folk who swallow his shit and we already have issues with vaccine take up

Make absolutely no mistake about it. PEOPLE IN THE UK WILL DIE as a consequence on Donald Trump's proclamations on vaccines and to a lesser extent paracetamol.

And it will be even worse in the states where people tend to give him more credence.

Whatever your political leanings - this is anti science and should be rightly condemned.

PS - if the evidence base ever changes around a particular vaccine or paracetamol - then I'll be the first person on here advocating for people to stop taking them.

It's not an ideological thing for me. It's a data one.

You seem to be conveniently ignoring the fact the Robert Kennedy is in charge of all this.

He’s obviously fully qualified to make the claims and I for one have tipped all my paracetamols down the bog this morning and had a splash of bleach in my coffee just to be on the safe side.

Very sensible Spider.

Can you imagine how frustrating it is to work in healthcare and having this absolute fuckwit in charge in the states?

They do mate unfortunately.

Or if they don't listen to him directly, they are more receptive to messages that other people peddle on the back of it.

Meanwhile - we're left to deal with the consequences for the NHS and for people's lives.

I know grown men who call him The Don and post things on facebook about how wonderful they think he is.

Trust me, they are all in on the Trump Train.

I notice he has been caught wearing a man nappy at these big events. He is a doddery old cunt though so thats to be expected.

This again isn’t defending him but during Covid didn’t we have some of our own NHS lot, Drs, nurses, scientists etc speaking out against the covid vaccine?

Yes, but they were all uninformed conspiracy theorists as well.

Who work for the NHS.

I know of one NHS worker who was vehemently antivax during COVID. He was an orderly though rather than anyone medical and has always been a bit of a nutter.

Doesn’t mean owt.  One of the world’s biggest anti-vax, anti-science fruit cakes was Dr Andrew Wakefield.  Now disgraced and discredited. Loons everywhere.

During the pandemic as the virus was better understood the advice on how to react to it changed, that is how science works.

But the change is based on scientific evidence as you say.

Woman on radio just said she would not take medical advice off Trump anymore than she would take advice off Noel Edmunds on tampons.
