We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

I said disaster because they’d be a lot of money, and even if they were able to hack it in the Championship, they probably wouldn't be stars they were for us in League 1. If we're going to cut it in the Championship we need everyone to be at star league 1/ early Championship level, with a few above that. This is why having such a thin squad right now goes in our favour.

I reckon £1 million might buy Kenny, while ACD would be a loan fee of a few hundred £k. Apologies to anyone offended by the numbers. 😉

If we can’t fork out £1.5 million for two players who we know work within our group and think can make the jump up, we may as well not bothered going up.

Probably not, though he looked OK last preseason, until breaking his wrist.

A full year in proper league football behind him now, so who knows.

I doubt many of us saw Conway being used so much this year, and our manager seemed keen to get Warren in.

Guess we'll see in good time.

He only had half a season at Aldershot and although he started well, he failed to score or assist in any of his last eleven appearances

I think it's one thing to jump from the fourth tier to the third, but to go from non-league to playing for us next season would an enormous jump

I'd rather be happy than right but I'd be very surprised

He didn’t look out of place in the pre season games to be fair not in the same way Daeshon and David did where it was clear they were still a long way from the first team. Suspect his level is probably somewhere in League 1. Championship is a big step up from League 1, might be a bridge too far.

Yeah, I was worried about us slipping from third place but not about us slipping out of the play-offs

we were in the top 6 for most the season

we didn't scrape it at all

we were the only team going into the last day guaranteed a play off spot

Good to see transfer progress early.

We did slip a long way behind the top two and from a position where we probably ought to have nailed 3rd down a couple of games before the end, though an element of that was the quirk of the fixtures that gave us that very tough last 6-7 games. We actually navigated those a bit better than anticipated before we went into them, that horrible little run that preceded them against relegation fodder meant our cushion was less than it ought to have been.

All water under the bridge though and clean slate going into Championship. It often means little, Burnley were a mile clear last season, made another lame effort at Prem, Sunderland scraped through play-offs, now in Europe

As far as I've heard, Iles has this one right. Don't believe we've even bid for the lad, Schumacher doesn't see him as a fit.

We do have that experienced Centre Half I mentioned I'd heard about coming in imminently.

I know the name but don't think it's my place to put it out there, as I've said before I'm not and don't claim to be ITK. A friend knows a friend who is involved so I share the tidbits I hear without being so blunt as to jeopardise potential transfers or the fella's job.

I won't bother if people don't want to hear it.

Kieran Morrison, another youngster from Liverpool, is rumoured as a loan signing

How can Blackburn be in for Stephenson? They have no manager and as far as I am aware have not been paying that kind of dosh for players for a while. Sounds like agents or Liverpool playing games as negotiations continue.

I agree I can't see him going to managerless Blackburn, but they have still been spending money, didn't they spend about £3M on Jorgensen in January, and they've just agreed to sign that French midfielder they had on loan last year for about £1.5M as well I believe (Moussa Baradji)

They have Rudy Gestede in as Sporting Director so he's presumably involved in signings

From what I can tell, he seems universally hated over there

I'd not be surprised to see them finally flush this year, it's about time they suffered a relegation

They are saud to have paid £2m for Dapo.

But they sold a couple as well &, as we will find, Championship players valuations are a factor higher than we're used to.

The Venky's financial restrictions have been lifted by the High Court in India, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were competing at the top end of the table next season.

Significant Venky's financial boost emerges as Blackburn...

Blackburn Rovers owners Venky's have seen their funding of the club limited in recent years, but that is no longer the case.

Anyone can say that.
I know the name of the striker we're signing, but I'm not putting his name out until the club confirm it first.
