We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Nowt wrong with that.

I hope it doesnt happen but it easily could,  if a bid came in for Santos then what would we accept?  Are we talking 7 million or going all Bristol city and demanding 25 million for their defender ?

I love Santos, but 3 million would get our interest

I would say that sounds about right and we got him for nothing .
Replacing him would be a massive headache because we rely on him so much in this formation is pace and strength to get us out of the shit in one on one situations . But the money would pay for a decent striker

A 3 million striker probably wants 12 a week, though

So hes immediately a 5 mill striker

Tricky

In the current market Santos is worth more than £3M. Not sure how much more.

I think hes a lot better than 3 million

The issue is getting it when youre in division 3

I see barnsley got 3.5 million for their fella, so maybe a bit more

It's been a while since we've had an asset that could command a decent fee and generate a decent profit. Ultimately the only things that would determine his price would be how much we want to keep him and how much it would cost other clubs to acquire a player of his calibre.

We couldn't match high wage demands so I think we'd sell if the right offer came along.

Without a doubt the day will come someone tests our resolve and I'm sure Evatt/Markham have already earmarked a replacement.

Anderson had already proved himself at Championship level so doubt we'd get any more than the £3.5m Barnsley got.

Part and parcel of FV's plan is to sell on players at a profit and trade our way up. We have to be prepared for this. Reality is, Forrester and Ashworth have both been signed to keep the conveyor belt going, learning the Evatt way.

If we could invest say £2m on 3 quality players if Santos did go, that would be good business

As much as he could probably do a job there, it would be a big snub to Dan, Vic, Jerome and JDB if, when fit, they are overlooked for a "midfielder".  And not a great look for IEs recruitment.

CMG seems to have far more to his game to be restricted to waiting for our midfield to create (rare) chances.  I'm hoping he can have a big impact on the pace and direction of our attacks from a bit deeper and be one of the creators, as well as shooting from 20 yards or bursting into the box.

According to Wiki, he's a winger!  That needs to be updated because if that's true he can forget about starting games 😆

Dan and Vic have had plenty of chances there, JDB can't stay fit and Jerome is Jerome. I don't think they could have many complaints.

Most of the time Kachunga was receiving the ball on the half-way line, so there's definitely scope for CMG to play there. I've never seen him play so what do I know, but a 'winger' as part of a midfield three with Morley feels less than ideal.

Santos to a Prem Club

£5 million min

Peterborough reportedly rejected £15m for Edwards , which even allowing for paper exaggeration puts Santos nearer £10m than £3m.

Got to be £5m minimum he showed last night how good he is and could become yet. Obviously if we want to get to the Championship we need to keep him this season at least unless the offer is ridiculous.

theres the issue

if its a prem club, we wouldnt get shafted

if its division 2, they stick 15k a week under his nose, he cant help but want out, then theres no way we get top dollar

He's had 3 years playing in the championship and is 3 years younger

Santos is 28 and never played higher than league one

I reckon he's staying but we'd consider £3m

Maybe even £2.5m

Sshhh, I was disappointed he made a poor pass towards the end of the game, it was no more than championship opposition, you can’t judge anyone in pre-season, he’s overrated.

The weather last night, despite the blue skies in summer July, was surprisingly chilly towards the end, I needed 2 layers.

hes also not as good as santos

Well he's a PL defender now with Championship experience worth £3.5m so it's all subjective in that respect

I don't think we'd get more than £3m for Santos so I hope he stays anyway but if no one comes in for him this summer I doubt anyone will

I don't care what someone is willing to pay for him, I just know we are worse off without him, so whether it's £2m or £3.5m, id rather keep him

Crikey, I thought they had no money??

Venky's been told to invest no more but they are selling assets and one lad who has been tracked by Spurs and others could be going for up to £15 million according to some dodgy rumours.

No new money but they do have player assets to shuffle.

500k is the new £4m. We won’t pull anyones pants down sadly.

ya'll need to calm down, he's had a good outing in a pre season game against a load of shite

never put in a similar performance in a meaningful game
