Not sure how or why.. but once I was a guest at Burnden and in the players lounge after the match I was talking to Dave Felgate when in walked a scruffy old bloke and I said to Felgate “who let that tramp in”

he replied, “it’s my dad!”

I once poured a pint over Tony Wilson's head shortly after Factory bought the Russell Club. He wasn't impressed - presumably because it was his pint, but fuck it - he was being a twat.

During football trials with Stoke City around 1971 when I was still a schoolboy at Smithills School, after training the youngest had to stay behind giving Gordon Banks some shooting practice and I knocked a few passed him hitting the top corner a couple of times.  He didn't play for Bolton but he was best in the world around that time.

Going to stop reading news and trawling the internet for transfer news and just wait for mounts lad telling us as he is ITK!

He also reckons Vics on his way. I’ve stopped trawling for news as well just get messages from him.

I thought he'd been the one to go, after turning bids down for him last summer.

Very soppy wasn't it.  The background music was the stuff fitting for documentaries about terminal illness.

I had a piss next to Alex Higgins

I had a piss next to "the Beast" from The Chase last week at the services on the M5 - he's huge - about 6'6" but broad. Took the poor bloke 20 minutes to walk back to his car due to folk asking for selfies and he obliged everyone. Didn't look at his knob, but if it's in proportion to the rest of him.....

Higgins on the other hand was tiny. Came into the Denmark in Rusholme/Moss Side pissed and coked out of his skull and was persuaded into losing money at pool. It was tragic to watch as he had been a bit of a hero for me in his youth and then he was a shambling wreck. Didn't look at his knob, but if it's in proportion to the rest of him.....tiny.
