It'll be interesting to see how many of our players who at best have flat lined and at worst gone backwards over the last 12 - 15 months show what they're really about under a new manager. Some signs already, albeit only from a couple of games in a little honeymoon period.

On the flip side of course there could be one or two who were 'signed for a system' who find themselves on the margins if they can't adapt.

I hope you're right although I thought we were fookin awful against Northampton most of the game, nowhere near as good as the Cambridge and Charlton performances. All about opinions !

I'd rather have an awful performance, 3-1 win, 3 points.

Than 2 good performances & 1 point

Wycombe do have cash. They just weren't willing to meet our valuation. Tough shit.

Don't let facts get in the way of a big pile of horseshit.

Plus he asked to leave to play more. At the time, with a fully fit midfield, he was down the pecking order. Now he's not, hence he's back. Fuck all to do with man management.

The speed of his passing is what we've been missing BTW. Proper direct fast balls in to space. Love it.

Above Sheehan for that role?

Obviously they both play at times, and it will be interesting to see what the new man sees.

Certainly is. One of maybe more advanced.

It's going to start looking a little crowded once we start playing a proper midfield system :)

That’s where most of our problems lied

Definitely Morley over Sheehan for me, Josh goes missing too often and with Randall now and Matete soon back if we got a decent offer for him I’d let him go and bring in a more physical type for midfield.

I agree with it all mate, and there’s no doubt that he wasn’t taking any opportunity he was given last season when he got them, but I can’t agree with that bit in bold. It’ll never be able to be proved but given his drop off from the heights we’d seen previously (and after he left us), I don’t think you can say that it was nothing to do with man management.

I don't have an opinion on who's better, they're both half decent and inconsistent, but going missing was always the thing thrown at Morley.  In fact every midfielder we've had in the last couple of years either "goes missing" (Morley, Sheehan, Maghoma, Williams, Randall etc) or just have a lot of games when they give the ball and/or free kicks away too much (Tomo, Matete).  Same with the strikers - Collins, Vic, McAtee etc - if they haven't scored or assisted every one of them gets criticised for a lack of involvement.

Nobody ever says a defender's gone missing, he either has a bad game or a good game.

If there's a midfielder or striker out there that doesn't go missing every 3rd game, bid whatever it takes to get them!

You're right, and I was talking to a fellow fan about it this aft, Charlton was an all right performance till the equaliser, probably better than this Tues, but it all fell away from then on.

There's obviously personal responsibility upon every player to do everything he can, day in day out, to be the best he can be. We're not inside the training ground so we'll never know how much, if at all, Morley's effort and attitude dipped.

But, as a coach, it's also your responsibility to do all you can to get the most out of your asset, helping him through dips in performance, confidence etc, so he delivers for you on the pitch. Again, not inside the training ground so can't be certain, but I'm not convinced that was a strong suit of Evatt's. The lad shouldn't have been allowed to drift to the extent he did

Anyone remember that Scott Arfield bloke?

Was getting criticised on twitter today because he didn't jump up off the bench when we scored.

Ronan Darcy signed for the Pies.

Always liked him as a player....until now.

Yeah, I did say when we signed him he was past it at 35, especially playing in the USA. Hopefully, we don't sign another Scott Arfield.

Any man manager has to balance consistency with the knowledge of what motivated a player. Who to kick, who to punch & who to give a hug.

IE preferred Brandon Comley and Tom White

Revolving door starts turning tomorrow?

Did he?

It’s close but, yes.

Comley 10 League Two appearances, White  9 and Darcy 8.

The fact the pair of them were useless, was an early red flag against Evatt. For all Darcy hasn’t yet ripped up trees, he’s just signed for Wigan. Whatever happened to those two?

I think Sheehan has a job on his hands to get his place back . Vs Northampton Southwood had more touches with his feet than Sheehan did , tho Im not sure what that says particularly as Sheehan is always targeted by the oppo.

Spot on. Anyway, looking forward to Schumacher being in charge. Good appointment.
