We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Makes me wonder if there is still a role for Sheehan in such a team.

Not if another club is interested in him, very good player but his role in front of the back four is now not needed

Ideal number ten but again would not be the first choice in that position........Anything above 500k  get rid for me

Don't Rovers get some of that though?

They want over a million for him not a chance.

I'd offer them no more than 500k and they can get a cut if we sell him on for profit.

Both Preston and Boro also reported to be interested so it may take more than £500k to get him which you’d think either of the other two could easily find, ourselves maybe not.

Not happening then

Average squad height up again.

It's nice and all, and I'm more confident in our current leadership than I was in Evatt and Markham but it really is just all talk at this stage

Similar things have been said by new signings under other managers

aye, we've talked a good game for 4 seasons now in League One

whilst this is a new chapter with lots ot be optimistic about, it's still just talk

well that's what Robinson said, but given we've just sold a proven L1 forward for 800k, they can get fucked, but I don't think anyone will offer over a million

with Robinson claiming that Salford should turn down offers of £1 million this summer for the talented Dutch winger

I remember a similar scenario to this regarding a pacey winger last summer, I think he was on loan to Blackpool. As soon as championship clubs were interested, we were out of the deal. Can't remember his name but I'm sure he went to a championship side and I've not heard of him since.

With N'Mai, it depends if people are suggesting we shouldn't pay the money because they don't think he's worth it, or because it just sounds like a lot of money for a League 2 player.

SS came here partly because he was promised money to spend (4 year contracts and a fee for Simons so far are testament to that). N'Mai is already an outstanding player with massive further potential and I'll stick my neck out and say he will be playing far beyond us in 4-5 years time. Not my money to spend, but at a million he could be an absolute snip!

Salford want a bidding war, and SS wants him so we may get dragged in. Salford will also want to spend the money so i doubt it will drag on too long! As always, it'll be undisclosed, but any fee for him will involve a big sell on clause I'd imagine!

Dembele. Played 23 games for QPR last season.

Combination of London life and money in his case I imagine!

That's the one bells, thanks. Hope you are well?

Tip top thanks buddy. Just gutted Vic is out until November so we can't have our productive chats about his performances 😉

Looking forward to the season ahead. Change was needed, but the pace of it is faster than i expected tbh. Think it may be a season where we improve as it goes, rather than starting fast!

That's what pre season is for and why we've started our business relatively early before they're back in training

His remit will be promotion asap

He wants to change the squad, it's why we've sold our best player to help bring in more faces

There should be no caveat that these things will take time

If Evatt was similar to Neal, SS has to be similar to Rioch

Taking Dalby as an example, if he only scores 2 by the middle of November he'll have double Collins goals by the same stage last season.  So any "slow start" comes with the caveat that all strikers have goal droughts during a season (see Charles), its not necessarily down to settling into a new team.

As you say by the start of the season they should all be used to playing together, obviously excepting any that only sign in August.

To be fair the bulk of the side will still be broadly as last year, Taylor replacing Santos and maybe Forrester replacing Jones with TSL obviously taking over from Baxter but I’d imagine the bulk of the squad will still be there so I don’t see it being any kind of clear out plus they’ll have a full pre season to get used to systems and each other. Hopefully a replacement for  Collins next to Dalby but midfield won’t be much different other than Xav stiffening it up.

They dont have much choice, headlines on the back of the BN.

Do all promotional videos show the medical room sign, or is it a sign of another sicknote?

not listened, but i take it that was recorded a bit back

Are you saying anything below 500k and he stays?

In that case he'll be staying, nobody's paying that for a 30 year old L1 player with a year left on his deal.

He might go if SS is keen to replace him, but we'd have to accept half that fee IMO.

I think if Bolton put out that Sheehan is available for around 500k i am certain one or two championship clubs would have a dabble
