We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

James McClean would rather play for a British Army XI than turn out for us ffs.

He fucking hates us. He's had nothing but grief from us for a decade.

We hate him, he hates us. It's a perfect relationship.

Couldn't see Sharon and Mc clean exactly hitting it off.

Don’t need to involve money tomski just a sportsman’s bet because I personally think he’ll be out injured frequently but if he isn’t he’ll probably bag those 10 league goals by Christmas.

I'm in the "he won't get into double figures" camp, we'll see.  He's been a very good goalscorer, but he's been used to being in a promotion winning side for years and he might be in a mid table team at best this time.  Added to that, he's not scored many goals above L2 and is surely past his best now.

As i said in my post it was just an example of the sort of profile that might help us experiencewise.

33+ regular premier league and later championship experience, maybe some local connection or they just fancy an extra year or two playing and wants to get into scouting/coaching etc.

Think someone fitting that mould with the right fitness/ mentality/ everything else could be a huge boon for our younger lads.

Are there any actual rumours or is it all just bollocks on here ?

Hutch is/will be a great back up this season....Play all the cup games and be on the bench for league games.

Sharman lowe to start all league games unless a bad, long term injury rules him out.

Plenty seemed happy that we only had one a keeper in our Match day squad of 18. Another bizarre trait from our past management team

Just on cup games, surely there are some we want to win?  No disrespect to Hutch, but if we're playing Arsenal away or those 2 enjoyable games v Luton I'd want us to have our best keeper playing.

I remember playing Villa (and being one up) and having our reserve keeper in (was it Dixon?) and he threw a couple in for them.  Trafford was sat in the stands for no apparent reason.

If we have a no.1 keeper, use him for any games we want to win, not just league.

SS has told us to expect both ins and outs THIS week, we just don't know who, there are lots rumours but they smell of people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 37.

Of course he may fall flat but I don’t think so. He’s a proven goalscorer and I don’t see him having any more trouble in L1 than in L2. I suppose it depends as you infer on the support players making the chances for him to but if they do I see him as good enough to finish them. I think injuries are likely to affect his return more than just not scoring but if he stays fit I think Wigan have pulled off a very good signing for no transfer fee.

It’s a loan deal and Wrexham paying 50% of his wages remains to be seen if it is a good signing all speculation atm.

Next will be, just seen him in Burgerking at Middlebrook.

Actual rumours?

Actual facts or rumours, most of which are bollocks!

McClean, Andy Carroll, Ashley Young

Ok let me rephrase.

rumours that might have legs not James McLean bollocks

How and who determines if something has legs?

The title of this thread is gossip, which is made up of rumour and speculation. It’s a recipe for bollocks!

If it comes from the club and it’s employees, it’s probably got legs. The BN tend to be a little circumspect, so their stories probably have legs.

Treat everything else with a pinch of salt, and embrace the fun of speculation. 😀

I think he just means reported from a reliable source rather than a teenager with a social media account

I'm convinced the BN get their rumours off Wways

It is but why let that get in the way of a twattish reply. Honestly becoming more and more a waste of time as it goes on this place.

“Proven goal scorer at a lower level”

”Give him chances and he will score”

The same could be said of Warren who we’ve already signed.

As with most goal poachers Mullin will need serving and the team to be set up to do that, otherwise there's no body of evidence to suggest he'll go and score 20 or more in L1.

His totals in National League and L2 speak for themselves but in his two career spells in L1 he's accumulated 6 in 46 games.

I still have a feeling our “older” player will be James McLean to fill the left back role. I don’t particularly like the guy personally but he’s still a good player with a winning attitude and will certainly rile other teams fans, most notably Wigans so it would be a yes from me.

Fuckin hell, I'd rather we get relegated than have that wanker anywhere near our club!

Fucking hell Ashley Young goes to ground easier than dioufy ever did.
