I'd rather we try this route than keep spunking millions on shite from Barnsley and Peterborough

Although its hard not to compare this signing with Tutu, another skillful winger from abroad we hadn't heard of.

It would be easy to do a montage of Tutu's best moments to make him look just as good.  As with all the new signings its a wait and see and hope!

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Gale done

can you relax now @Wanderlust

Probably not amigo - usually takes me about 10 games into the season to come to terms with a new squad 😵‍💫

If it helps, I think most of those highlights are from when he played in Georgia...

What I've learned from this post is that the defending in the Georgian league is fucking diabolical

Even the attempted rugby tackle couldn’t stop the lad.

Absolutely. Had our pants royally pulled down too often with that.

Good luck to the lad, hope he settles in well and is a wild card for us

Right footer, predominantly on the left.

The new Dapo.

Or will he play him from the right?

Tbf Tutu had a bit more pedigree over here, scoring at Wembley for Rotherham etc

Does this mean we won't be signing Kelly from Salford now?

Not the most talkative but seems a confident lad. Hope he doesn’t dribble too much and spoil his new shirt? 🥴

I felt the same 12 months ago when we signed Schon

He was an international back then

Its impossible to get a feel for a signing from another country until we see them against top half L1 teams, everyone will be looking at how they perform in pre-season friendlies but they count for nothing compared to the intensity of our August fixtures.

Odd signing if it's a four year deal and decent money by the looks of it. Half of his highlights look like they're on someone's training ground.

That's not to say it's good or bad, I'm just not sure how they could have any idea about how he'll do in L1.

If you hadn't heard much about SS methods, then watch that podcast in full.

All explained in there.

Any transfer has an element of risk, but they do their homework in detail.

Some aspects surprised me, but it did make complete sense.

I would also imagine that the scouting and analysis work is done in a similar fashion by many clubs.

Not heard of him and the "highlight" reels which you see online don't really stand out, so hoping we have unearthed a Gem.

If he's an improvement on Tutu it's worth while, as it seems SS isn't a huge fan and we need better wingers!

Interesting summer so far. First five signings down very traditional routes and until the Ceesay links emerged a week ago there was little hint of us casting our net in to European markets. Then we first make a signing from Rapid Vienna and one pending from Norrkoping.

Gale is the first signing of diminutive stature this summer but the point with him is he adds the pace and acceleration that we have lacked as much as the physique.

Schon and Tutu were signed from abroad last summer with mixed results. Gale has an injury record like Tutu had/has. It is a signing over which there will naturally be one or two reservations. We obviously hope they prove groundless.

Almost as much interest over this next month as to who we sell as to who we bring in.

One thing for sure - if we dont quite know what to expect once that trip to Edgeley Park comes around then Stockport sure as hell wont either. We wanted a shake-up and we are getting one.

I'm going to put my head above the parapet and admit that at face value, I can't really claim any of our signings have impressed me that much

Obviously, it's merely at face value and what will really matter is whether the recruitment team knows what they're doing (and will no far more than I do about these players)

But there we are

I'll probably add that my gut feeling is that TSL might prove to be a good signing

This grates on me a bit.   And it's no dig at you aldo but the number of times we read 'never heard of him'  etc,   well no course you've never heard of him,  we are in division 3, are folk still expecting us to sign household names ?   How many of the upcoming opponents players could people name without the aid of the teamsheet before the game.

Very much a case of 'trusting the process'

Not heard of most of our signings for close to 10 years now. Nice to see we're being decisive and getting our business done early doors.
