We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

They would be good in the channels floating over a few into the box

Not impressed by any diving though.

I don't care If we loan 11 men straight from an Asylum centre as long as it gets us up.

Agreed, making permanent signings for "building for the future" is great when it works but also lands us with below par players on longish contracts that we can't move on.

Dalby has played 20 minutes or so coming back from injury and it’s clear that Schumacher has some sorting out to do with our forward play anyway, so why not give him the chance to do it and give Dalby a few games and see where we’re at before claiming former players should be brought back? There’s as much chance of David Jack lining up for us as Dion this season.

True, which underlines the importance of getting it right in a very competitive market. All signings are a risk but when you are some distance from the top of the financial pyramid as we are, the less wiggle room for mistakes there is - and the wider the net needs to be cast.

Mcatee off??

Seems weird he's fully dropped...

So people are having a meltdown because we sold a striker who’s now sitting on the bench at Huddersfield?

Whilst we have a loanee who’s already scored two, a highly promising youngster & a lad who scored 15 in the SPL last season.

Feels more like we need a number 10 to me. Unless Dempsey finds his feet or Randall improves with game time.

I’d still take another striker like. But not Dion

Carlos can play 10

isnt McAtee a  “10” positionally speaking

It's the right call, regardless of his goal last week

We sold the only number 10 that new were the net was Collins but he was the only one anyone would want

Agreed. Yet he dropped a league to exit. That remains odd.

No way we're getting our money back on McAtee.

There's still some hope that Randall could settle.

A money move to a club with ambition

Think if we wanted him, he would have stayed.

I think he means he was the only one we could sell for a reasonable price

And GT

If someone but £750k for both McAtee and Randall tomorrow we'd sell both I reckon

Yeah, GT as well

But it was about No. 10s rather than the squad

Evatt was criminally indulged in chucking big money and long contracts at a host of players who were supposed to have us 'Championship ready' but whose ceiling has clearly proved to be L1.

Fair play if I'm wrong but none of Collins, McAtee, Nlundulu, Vic or Randall will ever play in the Championship. Neither will Charles but a bit of a pass given as he did contribute a lot over an extended period, even if he's hit the ceiling now

Aye, was just saying everyone is available at a price

Just harder to shift the ones brought in over the last 12 months with out losing money

From his perspective, I can see why it looks a better move than a move to an also-ran in our league

Don’t think anyone in our league was prepared to pay the fee they matched the fee Bolton were asking .
At the end of the day we have sold our leading goal scorer who played as the 10 and the other two  Randall and mcatee aren’t doing it .
I would may be look at going away from it and just playing both strikers once both up to speed or if we sign another striker and rotate them

Collins was never a 10. He spent most of his time starting centrally and drifting wide. Not the profile of a 10.  He's not a 10. He's best on the left of a front three.
