Ricketts might not make the top 5 strikers, but he sure as hell is in the top 5 finishers.

When it comes down to being ice cold in front of goal I can't think of anyone better. Walker and Philliskirk possibly come close.

Nay lad, limes will stave off scurvy but its Vit D not C thats the issue. Sorry for the earlier confusion, a rise in ricketts in Halliwell would indeed be a boon for our club, however rickets and other genetic issues are now widespread in our multicult utopia. Regarding the former this is a decent explanation as to why young asian women kept indoors and covered up are suffering.

Of course you could argue that demographically people from Asian, African-Caribbean and the Middle East are traditionally the poorest in our society, representing only a fraction of the population and therefore are the most likely to suffer from poor diets (and don't give me how much is a lime) Its not a ethnicity thing, more a poverty one.

Or you could say ts because they don't know how it actually cook (ignoring the fact that all those cultures have a rich history of amazing food culture and were eating citrus fruits whilst we were grubbing around with rotten apples) and thereby inferring that they have somehow brought this and genetic issues into our society.

I leave it to you to make your choice.

Aye, klasnic deserves a shout

Walker was a better out and out finisher than mcginlay, imo

genuine question

what's the difference between goals like walker on a one and one  when you knew he'd score, i.e. finish, and goals that mcginlay was capable of like against Wolves away in 96/97 when he chested, turned and volleyed home

or this one against boro - could never see Walker scoring any like that, so for me, mcginlay better

Ricketts would be in my top 5 finishes as well - as he could, from anywhere in the box

Ideas for anti-rickets sunbed places in asian areas...

Potential names;

Sunshine on a Raygun Day.

Black On? Tans!

Bandy Banned.

(apologies, the batteries in my dictaphone are dead, got to record these golden ideas whilst they're fresh)

i remembered that goal, but it was much better than i remembered

well done!

I'd be happier if I could find the one v Wolves

And the ricketts one v Huddersfield where he chipped the keeper inside the box

That one may well be the coolest finish ever

Sure he was about 8 yards from goal

Until Falcao v city, tother week

Is there an element of self loathing in your hatred of all things British?

No, it's just a fact.

Love British food, but Persian and Ottoman food were waaaay ahead of what these isles were producing.

Your use of grubbing and rotten are very telling, no negative terms used about foreign food.

I suggest you call in a cafe on your way to work tomorrow and have a full English breakfast whilst reading the Daily Express.

The loss of knowledge with regard to the availability of good ingredients available in this country is huge.

I'm particularly interested in herbs, berries etc and the range of available foodstuffs is very diverse.

With the onset of the industrialisation and farming to feed the masses has resulted in lack of knowledge.

I'm quite sure there's many a tasty dish to be served with ingredients we've never tasted before; just like the introduction of Asian foods etc.

Coming into the wild garlic season soon- its strong but tasty but virtually no one uses it. How many have used lovage in a beef casserole?

Frankly bollocks to say foreign food is superior to ours. Its about using quality stuff as fresh as possible and plenty is available here if folk are arsed about finding it.

Spot on TMGJ when  we British went on our imperialistic tour we found local populations in states of feast and famine. Most exotic spices were used to mask the taste of rotten meat. So for Crawley to claim curries are better than the traditional spit roast and ale is utter bollocks as anyone who attends one of my summers BBQ's will attest.

In at least 2 countries we exported grain from countries suffering famines leading to millions of deaths.

Aye, but the leaders of those countries were happy with that. We gave em wells, clean water, sanitation, irrigation, roads and modern farming techniques. Yet they still cannot feed their own.

Because we were shipping the food grown with the aid of that great British invention the well out of the country.

Then "we" gave them freedom from white 'domination' and they can now starve to death with the comfort of knowing they are free.

Dreary me!  Another self flagellator. Africa and India are where they are  today because of religion and tribalism and not because of the British. so you can get off your knees!

I get all River Cottage and make pesto with it.  Awesome :)   Grows like wild fire round these parts.

If you venture down to the Canal there's these bamboo like reeds that grow that you can eat the base of - tasty like water chestnuts (need a good scrub mind).

We have a rich culinary history just forgotten or ignored in the main
