Spider Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Do Mounts and Bolty have to come home to vote or do they get to send a letter from their cosy boltholes overseas? Quote
Rudy Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 If you’re not a permanent resident do you get a vote? Genuine question. Quote

Can’t vote for the conservatives with who now in control of the party - hearing Hammond on R4 this morning was a sad to hear how far the party has drifted from one nation values. As I say, I’m a bit lost with where to put that cross, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. You most definitely are not Quote

I could go on but I’ll leave it there. Quote

Sacrificing jobs and bringing hardship to their communities? really? expected better from you than that Not really is it? Their austerity hit poorest communities reliant on key services hardest. It was ideological. And completely unnecessary. Thatcher destroyed many Northern communities. You can argue about the rights and wrongs of it but that is still what happened. You now have a Tory government where most of the front bench have written about going even further down a neoliberal free market route than ever. So the evidence suggests that this government are unlikely to be anything other than rampantly pro big business. Quote

Wrong again Where did I say there would not be a stop to free movement? Wrong again We are still paying EU contributions plus £1b a year for 40 years.. Wrong again I said that we would concede ground again if Johnson got a deal and he did.. . You were wrong again Do I need to go on? Edited October 29, 2019 by Salford Trotter Quote

It’s clearly documented. You can argue the rights and wrongs of policy overall. I personally think that what many claim they don’t like about the EU apply more to this Tory government and past ones too. We want out to help Northern and midlands working class communities. Well they have been in decline since the 80s and the shift to a finance and services driven economy. What will the Tories do to urgently address that? Absolutely nothing. You know it too. Better off arguing why that is the right thing rather than pretending otherwise. Quote
