Exactly mate, plus didn't the EU impose a fine on the Italians for something related recently ?

I’m not sure tbh mate. But as you pointed out it’s awfully quiet about how us being out the EU has benefitted our businesses in their hour of need. Strange that really but not unexpected

Yes, they fined them when in reality the fi e could have been deferred until the virus is done and dusted .

Here's one re the EU apologising for the sluggish way they moved to help their own member states.

I recall on this forum, there was general and widespread applause for how well and swiftly our government acted, silence though on the ennui of the EU.

Ennui- wow, new one for me that. Keep them coming 👍

It's a pleasure mate. I'm astounded by the benightedness of the EU fan club on here, if it was the other way round, they'd fill a dozen pages on it.

Italy the odds on favourite to leave the EU next.

Didn't someone from the EU leave very recently due to the treatment of the Italians ?

Far less support than our businesses have been given as far as I’m aware and if we had stayed in we wouldn’t have been able to do what we’ve done.

but it will go unnoticed no doubt

Please explain how "we wouldn't have been able to do what we've done"? You do realise we are still abiding by EU rules and regulations, and are currently still paying in as if we were still a member, don't you?

One thing that COVID-19 has shown, is that it's a massive myth that countries aren't allowed to control their own borders anymore - as they all started to systematically close their borders down over the space of a couple of weeks.

Anyway, we've left now, so this thread should be redundant shouldn't it, obviously apart from people who want to keep shouting "we won, you lost" ad infinitum

Oh, there's a long way to go on this one......but no extension will be given to the EU and why should it ?

Previously, the ultimate sanction would have been expulsion from the EU for closing your borders.

Wonder if they'll do it to all its members now! :)

Anyway, very different circumstances so no point in delving into it.

Interesting poll by Bloomberg. Most Brits now think it was right to leave, but cult remainers still want to rejoin, utter imbeciles.

Correct mate, and Keir Starmer has sealed his early fate by saying he wants to rejoin the EU.

Do those thick Labour pricks not learn anything ?

Didn’t know starmer had said he wanted to rejoin, that deems Labour unelectable yet again. Labour do revel in making it easy for the Tories.

I don’t think he has said that.

Well, not yet.

I don't get it - we left on Jan 31st after a few years fucking around

and since then we've been distracted by the corona virus

so what does "right" mean?

I'm not sure he actually said he want's the rejoin the EU did he?  -  I thought that he'd just declined to rule out a campaign to rejoin the EU in the future, saying that it would be a decision for future generations  -  which I think is fair enough

Well, technically he hasn't in public just yet. Watch this space though, won't be long before it comes public......not that I have any proof he has said it in private 😂😂

😀

he's a clever fella is StarmerI reckon, unlike his predecessor,  he'll sway whichever way will secure him the best chance of getting in to power (which I can't see happening, no matter what the Tory party do in the next 4 or 5 years)

He is, but perhaps too clever, too metropolitan.

But we do need a credible opposition, which he might create.

Is ‘technically he has n’t in public just yet.’

The same as ‘he has n’t’.

I'd agree with that, I'd have him down as a Tory all day long, if I didn't know different, although that's probably what the Labour Party actually need now that the "Working Class" doesn't actually exist anymore

Yes, and I'm sure that Miami would be the first to pull somebody apart if they'd posted something similar. (especially if it was one of his mates Cheese or Fanny)
