They intervened. Which I gather is the inference of article 122.

Although article 122 is rather unspecific:

Ā Ā Without prejudice to any other procedures provided for in the Treaties, the Council, on a proposal from the Commission, may decide, in a spirit of solidarity between Member States, upon the measures appropriate to the economic situation, in particular if severe difficulties arise in the supply of certain products, notably in the area of energy.

They propped it up same as RBS as per ani’s comments.

I worked for both so have reasonable insight.Ā

so to close off the point the government didn’t take control of either.Ā

the ONLY reason they did either was they couldn’t allow the clearing system to collapse.Ā

Isn't that what the EU are saying? In the event like something like the energy grid is about to fail, they retain the right to intervene?

I might have totally missed the point here though! 😁

Don’t know tbh I couldn’t care less what the EU do if it doesn’t affect us 😁.Ā

Intervening by pumping money in or making money available is very different than talking control. Which I think was the original inference by our arachnid friend.Ā

I suppose that depends upon their intentions.Ā

A big if, and I don't know how it would work, but trying to take over one of their own would be one thing (pfizer) but AZ plants in the EU would be something else.

They've already raided AZ in Belgium once.

Not a good lookĀ whichever way you're viewing it.

Anyway, we've done nearly half a million, more places opening and the whites have won.Ā

Turkey broth to follow. :)

Not really. This is a man who pulls his kids pants down for a laugh.

Boom facts are he is a bit of a tit and slightly numb.

And oversensitive it would seem. The big tit.

As @EscobarpĀ said, more of just being a shithouse.Ā

It looks a good trading bloc. Needs America though as we already deal with most of them.

We’ll probably end up leaving in 20 years or so when Mexicans start showing up in their droves. šŸ’£

He says anyone who argued for UK Independence from Brussels can not oppose Scottish people wanting independence. But that is what people are doing on here.Ā

Some are, some aren’t, but, for me,Ā his logic is flawed, or not fully correct.
