Plus, I read on GB News that immigrants take home £7 gazillion a week in benefits, so we’ll save massively in the long run when they go. Further, the immigrants won’t be stealing our jobs (the ones not on benefits), taking our houses and stretching our public services. So, unemployment rates will decrease, the housing market will boom, rents will decrease and it will be a doddle getting a GP appointment and being seen in A&E.

As for GB news I’ll have to take your word for it, however if people are being offered 3k to go home I can’t see it being much of a deterrent to people coming, in fact I’d say it’s the opposite.

Reform have the hardest job possible - keeping billionaire backers happy whilst delivering greater wealth to the poorest many of whom are their supporters. I don’t see them squaring that myself and culture wars only take you so far in office as Boris discovered.

In fairness I’m not really sure why she is going to China. We need international investment yes but Labour have done very well on that front. Way ahead of where we were before. And it matters. But it matters in 2028/9 when those investments start to just about show themselves. But right now she isn’t going to get that far as the same problems her predecessors had still exist. I don’t think she will escape unless she does something very very bold and risky and there is only one thing I think she can do in that regard which is to signal we are planning for a CU re-entry in this parliament and SM next. Short of that Hail Mary (and does she have the political capital to do it?) I think she is done for. This year. Which is a shame as she is perfectly qualified and done pretty much the right things. One might argue about the particular choices re tax and cuts but those choices needed making and there were no good ones.

My godson is applying for his PhD and has been told that he should benefits from Brexit because of the reduction in numbers. Meanings he has more of a chance of getting into the research team. So there you all go, benefit No 1.

Yeah but I mean small boat man from Albania is now being sent back to Albania. Not being paid. And that’s the critical thing. Sending more back saves a lot of money rather than housing them in hotels and twiddling our thumbs for political expediency.
