You never complained about the Tories.

Cheers. The long and short is that the nonsense commentary that reeves budget has moved gilts is just that. Nonsense. But when in opposition we all knew that unless she got very lucky and borrowing costs reduced or we saw very fast growth that was never likely, she’d have to do one of three things.

Raise tax

Cut spending

Change her fiscal rules.

Shes not been lucky and in trying to control debt she’s done more or less what Hunt and the tories did which is likely slow down growth. You can have some sympathy as she probably had very little choice. But she’s a right of centre chancellor.

I predict she will cut spending as there is no other way. What that means is either cutting departments who have already been cut to the bone. She can hardly do that given we are talking prisons, schools and councils all things that are falling apart as is. So she will make savage welfare cuts the sort that the Tories had planned and reform are talking about. Starmer and Mcsweeney will let her the Labour MPs will howl and she will go. And they will then try and find a left wing chancellor to quell MPs probably one not on the front bench once the cuts have been made.

All a bit depressing but it’s how I see it going.

Would you say you complained about the Tories with the same intensity you do about the Labour government?

just for balance, like.

Let’s just give them until the end of their Parliament and see how the land lies then shall we? I know how you prefer to wait for any given topic to be resolved before weighing in with guesswork and conjecture ✈️ ✈️✈️🥰

We can’t all be experts on every single subject discussed on here.

No. Now ask the same question to everyone else in the echo chamber re Labour.

Ive gone on record saying that this Labour lot are useless. More so than the last useless Tory lot. You and others are more interested in other posters views than the current useless Labour government. Any mention of Labour and it’s the usual diversion back to the Tories or the source or the poster.
An example, Siddiq. Will this scandal bring Starmer down? Where’s Nick Brown? Will her first Budget be Rachel’s last? (I may chuck some more in another time) Discuss without mentioning any of the above.

Personally I don't see that much wrong other than some serious missteps in Comms.

£300 winter fuel allowance for everyone was stupid but so was the way it was removed.

The budget was heavy on business and I actually think this was a mistake if we are looking for growth.

What's are the rest of the useless things they have done in 6 months?

You seem a bit rattled.

Siddiq needs to be potted, of course she does. And I expect she will be.

Starmer isn’t one for knee jerk reactions, he’s a dull, methodical type. And he’s new to the job so will make a few mistakes. Forgivable when your moral compass is straight.

The reason I mention Tory misdemeanours is because they did nothing but immerse themselves in them for so long. And yet their fanboys said it was always a storm ina teacup etc…

just finding the balance. That’s all 😊

no matter which side you follow/support, the GBP sliding against the USD isn't great news at all....down to $1.21/£1.00 at the minute, which is fucking rubbish.

You'll struggle to find a single currency on the planet that isn't sliding against the USD.

that's OK then

It’s not good at all but there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

Reeves left herself little headroom and hoped global markets would go in the right direction. They’ve gone the other way and now she has to make a load of deeply unpopular cuts before no doubt she leaves her post from the political fallout.
