boltonboris Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 (edited) It’s mad. There’s a tiny tiny section of the world where a load of millionaires and billionaires get together to try and shape the world for their own gain and some people lap it up and cheer and holler at them. People like Musk don’t want what is best for you. They want you to work 20hrs a day for them. They want you to have nothing. They want the world to burn so you can scrap for food and work even harder for those scraps. They want the world to be run by the fewest people as possible so they can own everything. why can’t people say them for what they are? Edited January 13, 2025 by boltonboris Quote

I think that's a bit extreme I can agree that those "at the top" do want more, and will continue to get richer, probably at the expense of those less well off, and that will never, ever change, but I think the " they want the world to burn so you can scrap for food" line is a bit over the top. The budget was heavy on business and I actually think this was a mistake if we are looking for growth. What's are the rest of the useless things they have done in 6 months? Kenneth Clarke pretty much said exactly this on Radio 4 about an hour back. Quote

These are intelligent people who, for the sake of votes, money and power, are turning a blind eye to climate change and actually, going as far as pretending that it’s a myth to “control people”. Elon Musk is like an actual Bond villain going around trying to shape the world in his mould and control what people see, hear and then ultimately, say and do. Sattelites, Communication, Social Media. He’s heading up a government department which I’m sure will end up removing monopoly laws and such. Less time for leisure and chit chat, more time for work work work Quote

I believed and still do that this lot will be worse. I’ve seen nothing yet to change my opinion. Looking at the latest opinion polls, many who voted for them believe the same. I’m not pro Tory, I’m anti ‘this’ Labour lot. Quote
