In which case, why make a statement and promise something that was never in his gift to do. He didn't qualify it with "if we were in office..." as far as I'm aware. Perhaps this is a little disingenuous. Quote

It stuck with voters like you. You are now asking and criticising things that Reform may do (if elected) in 4 years time.🤷♂️ Edited May 2, 2025 by BobyBrno Quote
Spider Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 I’ll be clear, I don’t want to see a single boat full of blokes landing on our shores again. But Nigel and co. have never actually said how they will stop it, just that they want to. Quote

As I say, council tax doesn’t matter a shite to me mate Quote

The fullfact page, as I said, is being somewhat disingenuous in their interpretation. Quote

I’ve never seen a reaction to a government in such a short space of time like this in my lifetime and I’m older than most. The deniability is unbelievable. The Tory/Libdem coalition government lost over 700 councillors early doors, so not entirely without precedent. And they still won the next election. Still, Im pleased for Julie. I’m sure she’s raising a glass to the soon to be demise of the current PM Ed Millband. Quote

Actually, based on current trends, Julie could be a Cabinet Minister in the next Government. Couldn’t do any worse. 👍 Edited May 2, 2025 by BobyBrno Quote

My post was about reform. They offer division and no solutions. Divide and conquer. Right wing parties are always most dangerous during economic crises. Labour have inherited a mess after 14 years of public services being run into the ground. I see some good things in decisions about the NHS but some bad decisions for businesses which is counter productive for growth. However this was always going to take two terms to sort out and that is a big problem for Labour. Quote

Spider Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Anyroad If reform can deliver on their promises, then they get a big thumbs up from me. look what they’ve promised for Lancashire, my land: “Reform now have 9 months to deliver what they promised for Lancashire County Council: - No Council Tax rises. - No Cuts. - Zero Council Debt. - No potholes. - No officers paid over 100k. - More money for all.” Quote
