I don't agree with a lot of what he has done but blaming him for something he didn't promise isn't cricket.

In which case, why make a statement and promise something that was never in his gift to do.

He didn't qualify it with "if we were in office..." as far as I'm aware.

Perhaps this is a little disingenuous.

Don’t ruin the main thing he has

Hold on. 12 months before an election he promised to freeze council tax. It stuck with voters like you. You are now asking and criticising things that Reform may do (if elected) in 4 years time.🤷‍♂️

I’ll be clear, I don’t want to see a single boat full of blokes landing on our shores again.

But Nigel and co. have never actually said how they will stop it, just that they want to.

I never even knew he’d (not actually) said it.

As I say, council tax doesn’t matter a shite to me mate

You brought it up.

Politics. Politics is disingenuous most of the time unfortunately.

But I wasn't claiming otherwise.

Exactly.

It was clearly an electioneering comment.

The fullfact page, as I said, is being somewhat disingenuous in their interpretation.

I’m merely doing what you do, sitting on the sidelines and commenting on what I see.

Non-commital, simply observing.

You're onto something, it’s easier and I can never be wrong. 😘

Has it even crossed your mind that this may be a protest against the Labour government?

I’ve never seen a reaction to a government in such a short space of time like this in my lifetime and I’m older than most.
The deniability is unbelievable.

The Tory/Libdem coalition government lost over 700 councillors early doors, so not entirely without precedent.

And they still won the next election.

Still, Im pleased for Julie. I’m sure she’s raising a glass to the soon to be demise of the current PM Ed Millband.

By Jove I think you’ve got it!👍 I’m a bit touchy when it comes to name calling and I’m fed up with Julie.
Who’s Julie? 😉

Edit.

Actually, based on current trends, Julie could be a Cabinet Minister in the next Government. Couldn’t do any worse. 👍

I’m not denying anything. My post was about reform. They offer division and no solutions. Divide and conquer. Right wing parties are always most dangerous during economic crises.

Labour have inherited a mess after 14 years of public services being run into the ground. I see some good things in decisions about the NHS but some bad decisions for businesses which is counter productive for growth. However this was always going to take two terms to sort out and that is a big problem for Labour.

In an extraordinary day in British politics, the BBC leads with……..

Prince Harry!

It's not that extraordinary.  It's just Tory voters switching to Reform.

Although she probably wouldn’t make it there as she’d confuse Westminster with Warminster.

If reform can deliver on their promises, then they get a big thumbs up from me.

look what they’ve promised for Lancashire, my land:

“Reform now have 9 months to deliver what they promised for Lancashire County Council:

- No Council Tax rises.
- No Cuts.
- Zero Council Debt.
- No potholes.
- No officers paid over 100k.
- More money for all.”

I’ll leave Ms. Rayners gaffs for another day. 😉

They're very popular amongst racist thickos which is reason enough for me to avoid em.

So were Labour once upon a time in their northern council estate heartlands.
