Dimron Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 Just placed my vote for our new mayor (I'm in Lincolnshire)... do you think the cock and balls party will get in? Quote
Spider Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 🚨🚨 BREAKING 🚨🚨 Reports coming in that following todays local elections, Starmer is still the gaffer. Quote
Jol_BWFC Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 (edited) I found this interesting. Edited May 1, 2025 by Jol_BWFC Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Very interesting (don't know why it states 1st January as a potential date though) Latest elections though may just make the bookies have a rethink. Lincolnshire has been a strong Conservative area. Lost the mayoral election hugely. Runcorn: one of the safest seats for Labour, now gone. At the moment, Reform are doing well and won't be considering any allegiances, but, as the next election approaches, some sort of agreement may well happen, to ensure the current incumbents lose. Some desperate stuff with that post. He certainly won't be so happy this morning. He's been given a massive wake up call. A long way to go of course, but if he adopts your dismissive approach he's toast. He's too bright to do so though, which is a good thing. Quote
Spider Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 There’s about 20,000 councillors in England. Lets see how many are reform when all the votes are in and go from there 😊 Quote

Said after the GE if come the next election Labour have not sorted out 1 Economy 2 NHS 3 Immigration They will lose, a lot depends of how you interpret ‘sorted out’ but they won the last election based partially on how shit the Tories were, if they prove over the term of parliament to be no better why would nt people vote Reform or Liberal ? Being unpopular in year 1 is really not a problem as long as they have a plan to recover. Of course they can point at Trump as the problem but there will always be something that causes problems it is part of the job. They just need to focus on delivering their electoral promises such as house building winter fuel and PIP will not be issues in 4 years time if the bigger stuff is resolved, hopefully some of the stuff that is happening ‘quietly in the background’ will deliver tangible benefits Quote

deeane Koontz Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Labour were doing u-turns on everything. Didn't really matter at the time because the Tories were so shite. Quote

Reform will gain ground and the Tories & Labour will lose massive numbers of the electorate to them for sure. Quote
gonzo Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Said it ages ago, downplay Reform at your peril. They will 100% be the main opposition at the next GE. Tories have had it. Quote

I read the woman who won in Runcorn was ex Tory as is Anderson (though he is ex labour too) wonder if loads of Tories will just jump ship and voting for new Reform is liking voting for old Tory Quote

ianofcleveleys Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Tories decimation is looking not a million miles off that of the Lib Dems in the last decade. Reform might gain some more traction if, as they continue to win more Mayoral and Council seats, and the odd by-election, they start to get some more credible operators into high profile posts. In the current times of personality politics, they're very much Farage's party (I sat in a caff at GE time overhearing folk saying how they were 'voting for Nigel'). Bit like 'Frank Lampard's Coventry' 🤣 Quote

Labour have 4 years to deliver something, if they do peoples attitudes will change. The Tories are still infighting and have no where to go. If they try and go right they run into Reform, more central and they run into Labour. Quote

Cheese Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Time to see if Reform have anything beyond the bullshit and bluster. I suspect not. Quote
