What it does show, is like when the Conservatives were in power last time, all the opposition needs to do is sit back and wait for them to destroy themselves from within, which they're now starting to do

Same play book as before.

Whatever folk think of Badenoch, she seems to have learned from Starmer.

Don't do anything substantial, just attack on certain issues, and let the PM fuck himself.

And more have signed a letter saying they want him to stay. All a bit of a shitshow

It is.

Doesn't matter how many support him, if the threshold has been met, then it paves the way for someone to put their head above the parapet.

He is a dead man walking, and the cabinet can't win either way.

No threshold has been met

I’m curious. Just how has he fucked himself?

He seems to think the 1922 Committee rules apply to all parties.

To be fair because of the media's coverage of the endless Tory party contests most people think every party is run the same way.

Goes back the hill I will die on that basic political education of how our country is run should be taught in year 7 and 8 included in PSE.

I expect Starmer to survive a bit longer because of the lack of a replacement.

Streeting seems to be unpopular in labour circles (  I don't know the reason ),Burnham unlike Starmer is a competent politician but an obvious bullshitter & can't stand anyway as a non MP & deary me, Angela Rayner would be labour's Liz Truss !!

Because despite being a working class bloke he's on the right of the party. The soft left won't have him.

And he was very close to Mandelson in his jr years - plus London and gay.

Liberals on the soft left, are very selective in their liberalism.

I don't see anyone backing him here, stop being a giddy chops.

Oh, it was only a few days ago he was doing a good job according to some. So for the first time ever everyone on the politics thread is in agreement. Amazing.

Also those people didn't say he wasnt doing a good job.

Discussion points such as this demonstrate all too painfully clearly how the emptiest buckets think politics work.

I know, they said he was doing a good job. It’s there in black and white and you have replied to it.

Empty buckets and all that

Sigh 🙄

We won't agree, its not about point scoring, I think you've missed  the point I was saying, so its once again best left there when you are in your usual mood.

Sigh.

like last week you clearly have trouble reading. How can I understand any point you make when it makes zero sense? Just read the last couple of comments and try and make sense of them.

Who said Starmer was doing a good job?

You’d have to scroll back sweetheart, I’m sure they listed his achievements as well.

So you don't know then 😂

I agree though - Starmer out.

Not sure it will get Labour through the next election though. Can't see anyone other than Reform winning.

By saying very esrly that he would aleways retain Rachel Reeves as Chancellor.

She showed very early that she did not understand that she could not control outside forces on the economy. So unwise to s ay she would never increase personal rates of taxation. She has so far managed this by freezing personal allowances, so people know their taxes are rising even though the rates are not.

Dropping Winter Fuel payments for all and then re-introducing them for most was utter folly. ]

Child benefit limits ....
