November 21, 20178 yr I thought Reading were a decent team, attacked very well but dodgy at the back. They certainly won’t be in the bottom 8 by the end. Not a bad point over 90 mins considering how much possession they had. I felt we were fortunate to be 2-0 up in the first place. As long as the team is fighting I can’t criticise. If we go down because we aren’t good enough then so be it but at least the effort is there. Just hope we take 6 points from the next 2 homes otherwise they really are points dropped
November 21, 20178 yr In fairness to Parky, we aren’t just drawing though We’ve taken 11 points from 7 which is 1.5points per game If we kept on averaging 1.5points per game then we would end up with mid 50 points and should be all right correct over the last 7 it’s a good return but I will show my arse if we get anywhere near 50 points It still 2 wins and we are approaching December
November 21, 20178 yr That draw is on parky. Armstrong and Ameobi were crying out to be subbed ten minutes before they scored. I know he could see the amount of pressure they had down our wings, because those were the two players he brought off, but it was too late. Armstrong defensively isnt disciplined enough and Ameobi was knackered. Poor management. Said the same to my brother. Ten minutes too late with the subs. Having said that we worked very hard and I'm encouraged by the team spirit and work ethic against a decent side.
November 21, 20178 yr Let them play it around us? Behave. They worked their balls off tonight against a team that knocked it around with ease Correct. We would have lost that in Aug/Sept. We have improved beyond recognition and the players are really putting it in.
November 21, 20178 yr Just home now and gutted after being 2-0 up. The one thing that I would criticise Parky for is that he made the subs too late. It was crying out to take Armstrong off earlier as he offered us nothing and took no pressure off the defence. I am beginning to think that the theory someone mentioned about Armstrong having to complete a certain number of minutes so the Newcastle pay his wages may not be as daft as I first thought! Still don't think he justifies his place.
November 21, 20178 yr I'll have to disagree with a few on here. I thought Reading were poor. Knocked it around well without any real penetration - but I thought we looked totally comfortable until their first went in. We're set up to do nothing more than grind a few results out here and there. Hopefully we'll be able to grind enough out to see us safe.
November 21, 20178 yr At 2-0, quite a few times we were one decent final pass away from being in for 3. Thought Alfie had won it at the end. Noone looked sharp, as said above should have had him on 10/15 mins earlier. Frustrated as fuck though. Mom Pratley for me. What the fuck was the Ref on!?
November 21, 20178 yr I thought Reading were by far the better side tonight, more comfortable on the ball and passed it well. We were fortunate to go 2-0 up, but it's a good job we did otherwise we would have lost. A nice late flurry from us in injury time - if only we could have got a last gasp winner, the remaining 7k would have gone mental.

Knocked it around well without any real penetration - but I thought we looked totally comfortable until their first went in. Same here, well not that reading were poor but we weren't second best despite the possession stats Thought it was a good effort and whilst a draw after being 2-0 up is dissapointing the effort from us wasnt and we're heading in the right direction with 28 games to go But, think we definitely need to win the next 2 home games as the 3 aways coming up are tough and Cardiff at home also If we don't beat burton and barnsley we'll have to pull off an away win before the year is out
November 22, 20178 yr Ameobi was blowing out of his arse after an hour, for me Parkinson is at fault tonight for not using his subs early enough, did we deserve to win it no, should we have won it with better management yes.
November 22, 20178 yr correct over the last 7 it’s a good return but I will show my arse if we get anywhere near 50 points It still 2 wins and we are approaching December Is this another Cheese moment? Town Hall steps?
November 22, 20178 yr Possession stats count for little IMO. Goals matter. We got 2 from 2 set pieces Reading defended poorly at, they got one where we defended poorly and a clumsy pen. If you think Reading had more chances than us in the rest of the game, then you should be content with a point.
November 22, 20178 yr Anyone shouting for madine to close down the keeper whilst everyone else is sat back is absolutely mental Let the keeper have it all day. They can’t score from there
November 22, 20178 yr Armstrong is a striker. Noone and Buckley are wide men with lots of Championship experience. I know Armstrong tries and has quality but he's a square peg in a round hole out wide. Buckley or Noone need to play there.

November 22, 20178 yr Hopefully Vela will get back to how he was playing before his injury, but at the moment he's miles away.
November 22, 20178 yr Subs definitely made too late. Possession stats mean fuck all if it includes the keeper stood for 5 minutes doing nothing. Second half no outlet as sammi went out of the game. Edited November 22, 20178 yr by Ani
November 22, 20178 yr Possesion stats are important because the less you have the ball in general the more your chasing and expending energy while the other team in comparison are resting, fatigue could be why we are conceding lots of late goals. And if that’s the case we need to improve on our current possesion levels, a midfielder who’s comfortable on the ball and who can dictate the pace of the game would be a welcome addition in January. November 22, 20178 yr Mounts well said totally agree no way can players keep pressing the ball for 90 minutes and once they get the ball give it away they are going to get tired and make mistakes. This is obviously perky only tactic and his use of subs are poor.
November 22, 20178 yr We don’t have to press for 90 minutes if we’re prepared to keep a tight structure higher up the field, but the midfield kept dropping deeper and deeper which in turn forces the defence back and all of a sudden Reading have possession in a dangerous area instead of watching them pass the ball between themselves at the back.
November 22, 20178 yr Reading were shit. We were shit. Parky was shit. The crowd was shit. The Linesman on the east side was shit. However, kudos for Henry & Pratley, especially their waving on of the trainer. Horrible, horrible team Reading, main tactic to reduce the opponents to 10 or less men. They will be bottom 8, Stam will be gone by Xmas.

If you read my post I said ‘if they include’. So their keeper was stood for I would guess at least 5 minutes during the game with ball at his feet with nothing happening. Second half we could not find an outlet but when we did looked as likely as they did to score. Hence subs should have been made earlier.
November 22, 20178 yr Some of you will have maybe seen enough of Robinson now to judge him better than most, whats he been like overall ? Chat from our side, he is currently playing to find his next club.
November 22, 20178 yr Some of you will have maybe seen enough of Robinson now to judge him better than most, whats he been like overall ? Chat from our side, he is currently playing to find his next club. He’s improved massively since he’s arrived. Still has a bit of a tendency to get caught out of position - which brought the booking last night that left him on a tightrope for 80 minutes - but that will improve with experience. If he continues to progress like he has done then I wouldn’t be unhappy if we signed him permanently (for the right price).
