Might?

I'm talking about the trust as it stands now.

Plus I've little to zero faith in them being able to attract the money needed.

There’s some decent folk involved behind the main board and I’ve no doubt if ever it was needed there would be plenty of big hitters who have BWFC at heart would get involved.

Interesting tweet from Superagent posts all the manchester area clubs league table us 3rd behind city and united saying we’re coming to get you. Read into that what you will.

LA talking shite as he always does this time of year, is what I'll read into it.  His bravado tends to fade as the summer progresses.

got a feeling there might be some serious money coming in soon, the andersons seem to have a magic touch. I can see them pulling a really big rabbit out of the hat.

I really hope they bring the money in. I think they will, its more a question of timing. These deals seem to take months and months. They do not happen quickly. So, it is a question of whether it happens in time for next season or not for me.

yes correct can’t see a quick turnaround although it would be nice to announce new owners with investment before season tickets go out

Hundreds of people piled in to back a very small group of people that most of them didn't even know, nor what they stood for, when the ST was born.

Initially it had a interim and well respected chairman Richard Hurst, who disappeared very quietly soon after  - almost as though he hadn't found to his satisfaction what he was heading up and jumped as soon as he could?

Well respected by whom, exactly? I've never heard of him.

Regarding the hundreds of people, I was one of those who expressed an interest in paying them a tenner for membership of this Supporters Trust but then didn't pay them anything at all. I didn't see any reason for having a bunch of self-appointed and self-promoting nobodies speaking on my behalf when I felt they were looking to massage their own egos and little else. Discussion on here pretty much convinced me I was right. History since the launch has confirmed it.

I've never heard of him myself before he was parachuted in as the first Chairman of the ST (unelected I might add!).

Looking back now it seems to me that he was brought in to bring about a veneer of respectability to the ST and maybe even network them in to the Bolton and district business community world.  If so it looks as though it backfired on them badly as Mr Hurst bailed out even before they held their inaugural (and to date only) AGM and I'm not aware of any sort of business or corporation actively backing the ST - although I'm happy to be put straight on that if anyone knows better?

Mr Hurst is a clearly respected pillar of the Bolton business, social and community world as the link below outlines and his rather sudden (and seemingly hidden by the ST) departure as their 'honorary' Chairman seems to me to suggest he wasn't too impressed with what he found there and jumped at his first opportunity.

If that was indeed the case it seems he was 'bob on'.

Bolton at Home have worked in partnership with the Trust in particular with the Charity fund raiser and the subsequent after match dinner, also the sponsoring of academy players.

Wasn't that two years ago though and wasn't that in respect of a charity donation in general rather than backing the ST per se?

What have they actually done to back the ST directly?

Has any business actually directly backed the ST - particularly as the ST kept telling us they had 30 local businesses and 'high net worth individuals' eagerly waiting to throw their money in the ST's direction to buy the club?

I doubt many (if any) businesses would put their money behind an organisation that has not held its obligatory AGM in nearly two years and their last published accounts being only up to July 2016.

My understanding is that if Ken sold out to whomever, the deal he persoanlly has with ED ends, and the money he is owed would have to be paid whether we got to the premier league or not, Plus there is the blu marble loan, the money owed to warbies and the other guy, and no doubt some other things as well

To be fair I can't see the investment coming. It's too complicated to deal with us

New owners with loads of money, all debts cleared - start afresh with investment to spend on fresh players.

Can't see any complication myself.

That would be nice.

I wouldnt mind anderson running it/continuing as chairman too!

Exactly. Who would want to pay a former owner as well as current?

Let's hope it's someone who has got money to burn. Fingers crossed
