Salford Trotter
nothing to do with poor taste, 72 people lost their lives in that inferno through no fault of their own and then some low life portrays the whole thing again is unforgiveable. Whether a crime has been committed or not is not the issue, it shouldn't happen, not now not ever. There are some seriously sick people in this world and if you don't find that act grossly offensive then you need to look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why not. I hope the people that have shared it to are looking over their shoulders today because it is very likely, according to the CPS, that a crime would've have been committed
Moderators Zico Posted November 6, 2018 Moderators Share Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) I don't think they should be arrested, though am quite happy for them to be named and shamed they posted it on social media for a reaction, presumably likes and to go on about free speech or something, but they should equally now be open to a torrent of abuse, and if anyone wants to take it up with them personally, they can edit: just read they didn't post it publicly, it just ended up getting out, either way, fuck em Edited November 6, 2018 by ZicoKelly

athywhite1958
Folk have been mocking the tragedies of other people forever, and they will continue to do so, as football supporters we all know it goes on in all walks of life

Could you imagine if the spokesman from the CPS was present at Old Trafford when we played there in the early 90s with literally hundreds of bolton fans singing Munich songs and doing the old plane actions with their arms! There wouldn’t have been enough cells in Manchester to put them all in!

What’s the crime for you then? Why hasn’t Frankie Boyle been arrested? Bolton fans still sing Munich songs as do Liverpool fans, united fans in turn sing hillsborough songs. Effigis of Trump and Boris Johnston amongst others have been burnt up and down the country as have poppies and war memorials have been defaced (all in public areas). As athywhite has said people have been mocking tragedies as long as we can remember (not that it’s right) and it will continue till we pop our clogs. bwfcfan5
Why are people getting hung up on the technicality of a crime or not? The CPS will determine that. The blokes handed themselves into a police station once the video went viral. So they clearly felt they needed to do that. The CPS can decide if this constitutes a public order offence. The whole "what's the crime here" is just an attempt at misdirection. What they did was shocking and IF there is a crime committed then all well and good. But the broader issue is the huge societal ills things like this reveal. And that is more important than grandstanding about whether this was a crime or not, in some weak attempt to draw attention away from the real problem. I agree, you rarely hear them nowadays because thankfully football and society in general has moved on into the 21st Century. There are always going to be the exceptions sadly. miamiwhite
Just for balance, have those folk who were burning an effigy of Boris Johnson been locked up yet ? Same with those cretins in London last night burning the St George’s Cross.....hmmm, double standards.....not to mention that vile cow caught on camera robbing the poppy collection box on Derby St over the weekend.... As always...links available on request if required xx
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 6, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted November 6, 2018 As wrong as it is, officers have been sent to search a garden and all the time spent interviewing. Just when a senior officer, supported by Cressida Dick, says police have to now prioritise the more serious stuff. They were beastly in their actions, and totally witless sticking it online. However, I'm sure those officers would be better served solving a murder or some such. It seems though that all these resources have had to be deployed to satisfy public demand for action.
