supermarket staff aren't required to wear them

Which is strange. You could have a member of shop staff with no mask on telling a customer they won’t serve them because you have to wear a mask.

Lad tells me supermarket won't or can't enforce mask wearing

It'll be down to plod

Who really haven't got the time for all that shit

I think its pretty clear anybody not wearing one should be queuing in the cunt aisle

So no-one can say that South Korea have done a better job of handling it than Brazil?

And why would you want to? Who cares? How are our numbers doing? Up? Down? Why?

Because you want to know who is doing best and see how we can match what they are doing ?

I have an appointment with a customer this morning in Blackpool at 11am.

Mr L. Pierre.

Honest.

Which makes the decision all the more bizzare

I think the theory is that when a person wears a mask it's to protect others rather than themselves. Therefore, customers are expected to wear them in order to protect spreading the virus to shop staff, who will be on the premises for longer and will come into contact with people more often.

You sound surprised

Probably because some supermarket staff refuse to wear them.

If i'm a cunt for not wanting to wear one, then i am a cunt 😁

Not wanting to wear one doesn't make you a cunt.  Not wearing one does make you a cunt.

Of all the late or fuzzy decisions this lot have made this year, this one really is a headscratcher.

This really should've been brought in from the start of lockdown.  Baffling that it wasn't.

However, what's done is done.  If it helps to continue to reduce the rate of infection then I'm all for it.

...its bizzare and 4 months to late.

Yes it’s 4 months too late but it’s not too late to prevent a second wave. They have made many mistakes but we can all learn from those mistakes. Another thing I do is carry a small bottle of sanitiser and use it every time I’ve touched a surface used by others.

Mrs told me something she'd seen

"Asking people to wear masks 4 months into a pandemic is like putting a condom on at the 12 week scan"

but the people who work in them don't have to ?

Fwiw, whoever is doing workplace risk assessments ought to be requiring their use, imo

anybody who ends up scrapping over a fucking face mask wants taking out of circulation for a very long time

Well, hopefully they'll catch it in the process

Had to wear one yesterday taking the little one for a hair cut, and kept it on when I went to the supermarket

Wasn't the most comfortable experience

Anyone confused by it all though needs to take it up with the government who are making it up as they go along, otherwise get one on and stop moaning about it

And if still not convinced have a look at the autumn projections with and without folk wearing masks

Aye, through lockdown I've stuck my glasses on and masks with glasses is a pain

So I'm back to lenses

I can't believe the opposition to masks, it's a minor inconvenience that could save someone else's life, should have been earlier but the governments been behind on everything.

FFS, work have just sent me 500 of these face masks - these are single use ones of course. I've asked them why I've got so many, and they said that their contacts in the government departments they're dealing with are suggesting that we'll need to be wearing face masks in public until at least the end of October, which will be almost 100 days - so they've sent me and Mrs Sweep 2 each for each day, plus another 100 reserve masks.

I've checked the price as well, as I see that Asda are selling them for about 75p each  -  I know work only paid about $0.10 each for them.....so I might see if I can get a few more and eBay them 😂 (I joke, but I bet some fucker at work does)

Mrs Sweep was looking at some fancy cloth ones from a local shop, until I pointed out to her that they make folk look even more twattish, as it looks like you've really made an effort to appear "stylish", plus unless you're going to wash them every single night, they'll be rank after breathing your sweaty breath all over them for an hour or so each day whilst you're wearing one

Wait till she sees the chocolate cockerpoo ones

worn a mask for 80% of my working day for nigh on 40 years , i dont understand the problem

heard a row on the radio yesterday between a nurse (13 hours a day masked up) and some grumpy old bastard ( not putting one of them on for five minutes to go in a shop)

How hard is to work out it is for the collective good and not a lifestyle statement

Tuesday morning lad rings in to tell us his gf has tested positive and so he is isolating, this morning turns out 2 others here had lifts off his gf over weekend but didn't bother to mention it yesterday.

Not saying this was the case for us but I wonder how many times similar will be happening when folk realise they'll be on SSP if they go off and instead they crack on as normal thinking it'll be reet, maybe having a test on the sly to put their own mind at ease ?

Still blind to the facts, though
