Taking our Keystone Cops cock ups out of it there was very little difference between us & a team that now sits 3rd in the table. That's how shit this league is & why its so frustrating.

Exactly.

A lot to be said for sending out a well drilled, organised team at this level.

We need a manager who can put the professionalism and structure back in place, a modern day Phil Neal if you like.

Yes 100% agree, plenty of ex pro’s will be looking for jobs soon and a Phil Neal type appointment is exactly what we need.

The Swindon manager is a prime example. Wasn't hugely successful in his playing career but now forging a decent team, playing decent stuff.

Whoever is taken on as a manager always has a risk element to it. As we can see now.

Not one positive from that second half all 13 of em were shite.

Most entertaining thing was watching the shithousery of their keeper. It was depressing that none of our lot seemed arsed by it.

Lowe played well.  Hardly failed with a pass or tackle all match, played 2 positions well and never once let his head drop.

In spells in the first half we past the ball well then conceded at the end of the half yet again .  second half was absolute dire expect Hill to come out and say how proud he is of them against a top side etc

It might be clutching at straws but if we're talking about crap games, Bristol Rovers was far worse from start to finish.  In the 1st half hour I could see a plan believe it or not.  We refused to boot the ball.  An ex-season ticket holder who came to his 2nd game of the season (the previous was Southend) commented how the centre backs no longer boot the ball to, they pass it deliberately into feet.  If we'd played Tranmere today we would have won 2-0 and everyone would be positive.  We were beaten by a better team, but there's signs of a plan.

Usually it’s backwards. Which I’ve no issue with now and again, but it’s 90% of the time.

no at times He goes back a bit too often but he gets hounded for not throwing it up field aimlessly.

I think sometime we are a bit stagnant in midfield to offer a better option.

Some tactics are baffling .Why do we constantly target O'Grady from our keeper .A guy who can barely get off the ground .If the tactic is to win the ball in the air then maybe stick Murphy out there even though its a shit idea .Some truly awful performances today for me only Lowe & Hamilton can be happy with their performances although Politic always tries to get a shot off which is creditable in a team of shot shy plonkers.Hill allegedly knows his oinions well he was right to substitute both fullbacks who were both booked & both gash.Although I didnt get the plan to play Dodoo as our lone target man , a player who persists in barging into the opponent not even looking at the ball.

Agreed on Lowe and to a lesser extent Hamilton (he's definitely got something about him but is very inconsistent).  I'm Luke Murphy's biggest critic so I'll give him a 7 out of 10 for being better than normal today, so of his passing was crisp and accurate, and for once forward.  After the Tranmere game I could be persuaded that he could do a job in Div 2, but definitely no higher than that.  Politic struggles to get in the game stuck on the left wing, I feel sorry for him, he needs to play in the middle where he can cause damage, but Murphy's in his way.  Dodoo is going to be a disappointment, a Div 2 player, which makes it unclear if we'll see him next year.

As part of the wider picture of hills future, does anybody really think he wanted Bridcutt, earl, verlinden and Wright out of the club in January

He's a pain in interviews and odd as fuck but there is a bigger picture at play

He clearly wanted rid of Wright, he wasnt very good.  And I thought there was no choice, we werent allowed to keep them beyond 1st Jan.  We've ended up with better centre backs than Earl and Wright (Bryan and Nsiala, and I know he's not perfect).  Bridcutt was never going to stay, he deserves better.  The mystery for me remains Chicksen, playing a couple of games with no left back and replacing him with a player who is decent but no better and not in it for the long term.  Still wierd to me that one.
