If you're referring to lockdown, then it's misguided to suggest teacher's weren't still working. Decorating, gardening, painting by numbers? I know 3. That’s what they were doing. Any info to prove your misguided quote?

It would have been nice if the teachers, as a mark of solidarity to their comrade workers and the poor had given 20% of their salary to the cause. I did. Didn’t have a choice mind. That would have been nice wouldn't it? How do you know that every teacher could afford to give away 20% of their salary? Donated money where I could, but if you took 20% of my salary away I would have been struggling to cover rent, bills and living costs. Still would have been happy to do it in support of those on Furlough. But I can think of some folk earning far more than teachers who could have shown a bit of solidarity to the cause as well. Maybe just by paying their tax as a starting point. I was working hub school shifts during lockdown, on top of online teaching. Not used to that amount of screen time and was still working long hours, I couldn't wait to be back in my own classroom. We also came back a week early up here in the summer. Not looking for any plaudits - I would have happily come back sooner if that's what was needed. As would have my colleagues. Just not sure why folk are assuming we were all dossing about on lockdown holiday. But clearly that's what you saw with your friends so fair enough👍 Edited October 25, 2020 by London Wanderer

Site Supporter only1swanny Posted October 25, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 25, 2020 5 lessons delivered each day to roughly 140 students with lessons answers and assistance within 15 mins of request. Phoning parents to check work etc and then being in twice a week to supervise key worker and vulnerable children. Been a breeze..

We all know you've been painting your new extension and sunbathing between coats. And you've got another week off now too! Unbelievable. P.S You'd better look after my kids after half-term so I can go to work, you snowflake twat.

Cant fault the government for the support I got. Others not so lucky. I don’t want to go through it again though.

Don't think anyone other that Cheese through his banter is doubting that it was strange time for you. Or that it is something you would want to experience again. For plenty of folk the anxiety of not knowing if there job would continue or shit living circumstances would have far outweighed the benefits of being paid to stay at home. I was just calling out your suggestion that teachers were having a jolly lockdown holiday whilst being greedy bastards with their wages. Glad we've established that it was nonsense 😁

Frustration and concern led to my sarcasm. Probably the worst time ever to be a teacher at the moment.

To be honest it's nice going somewhere where you have to pretend everything is okay for 6 hours.
