Mrs Sweep has been sent home this morning, over half the office have COVID, and they seem to be quite ill with it. She's feeling pretty rough, has done for a few days, just done a test and it seems she's clear. Anyway, she's happy enough to be WFH for the rest of the week

Similar here, but chest is OK. Just neck upwards.

Bizarre thing to say the least.

You shouldn't have anything like that for a month, she should get to the docs.

I once had a lingering cough for 3 weeks and felt a bit rough but got one with things. Then went on a long walk up Rivi that wiped me out, turned out I had pneumonia and needed some strong antibiotics and chest xrays.

Johnson messages were given to the enquiry, though the cabinet office "asked for some back" whatever that means.

Anyway, surely the recipients of any messages from anyone can pass them over can't they?

They're a two way street.

As an aside your reference to Dr death is quite sad.

Whatever anyone's views of him are, folk were happy to take the money doled put during furlough, and were grateful for vaccines. All of which he was responsible for organising-hardly the work of a madman nor someone dealing in death.

The dodgy contract awards are clearly a stain on the record, and as we are already aware of this, hopefully more details will come out in time.

Johnson provided his 2nd phone I believe, not the 1st. Sunak hasn't provided his. Why  not?

The Dr Death is a quote from Dame Angela McLean so not sad at all, folk are fucking dead, so I am happy to go wherever it takes to discover the truth.

Yes apart from this I thought Covid was handled quite well. Looking at other countries (can we compare countries in this thread?) no one seemed to do everything right and I don’t think any country was expected to

The PPE was a bit iffy

Furlough was good.

Postcode lockdowns were weird and unworkable.

Partying whilst telling everyone it was a 6 person max at funerals was fucking awful

Been following things in New Zealand. They were praised by many for their approach to COVID restrictions. The government has recently been ousted. A Labour government, unfairly by my reckoning. We may have a NZ poster who could enlighten us.

Acknowledging the natural disasters, terrorist attack and pandemic that marred his government’s term, Hipkins said: “I honestly think that the Gods rounded up curveballs to throw at us.”

I think a lot of the praise/criticism went beyond politics at times. You had mixtures of both left and right wanting earlier and longer lockdowns and the same mix of left and right saying the lockdowns were too harsh and long. No country got it right and if there was another pandemic tomorrow I reckon similar mistakes would be made around the world .
