Boys are easy. 6 year old grandson is here two days a week after school. Strips down to his duds, sits on the bed with an iPad, and sits scratching his nuts. Then gets the iPad confiscated because somehow he’s found some strippers on YouTube and grandma is not happy 🤣

This is the way I can sum it up

Girls are cats they want the occasional scratch and feeding

Boys are puppies and don’t stop until the sun goes down then they’re upset at the sun doing down

Then it starts again

Or to sum it up easier when I told him we were having a boy

Brace yourself Rodney

Remember when mine were young and an advert on tv for insurance. It showed a father throwing his young son up in the air and when he came down, he was an adult. We laughed but it was true. It really does pass so quickly.
Spend as much time as you can with them.
Social media wasn’t a thing back then but I see people spending most of their time on it these days and talking about their kids. Talk and spend time with them instead. Social media will still be there when they’ve left.

Spending time.with my nephews this August, all I can say I'm glad I've got girls.

Boys are mental idiots. Be quiet, sit down ffs!

You sort of just point boys in a direction  and off they go. But they don't seem to stop!

But to be fair with teenagers I'd much rather take them fir coffee and have a chat about stuff over. I'm over the park/softplay years, they seemed to drag on forever. Much prefer it now.

I think back to what me & my siblings had

and  what my kids & grandkids have now

i still think the old days were the best

no peer pressure

simple life

Happy days with a full childhood

when a bike ,a bottle of pop, treacle butties and a day down the middlebrook catching red doctors was a grand day out

I’d hate to be raising a 7-12 year old today

Lads just turned 8. Can barely get a grunt out of him when he's on his switch or ipad.

Daughter is nearly 4 and just started pre-school. She's 3 going on 47. Proper wise head on her. Has been having full blown conversations with her ever since she started talking!

Anyway the start of preschool was try 12 month countdown for the end (ish) of childcare costs!

🥳🥳🥳

Always had a little worry about eldest. She only ever plays with boys. She prefers it. Not a bad thing really cos girls can be bloody horrible sometimes. Dreading her going to secondary. As soon as she mentions anyone being mean to her my Mum will be at the school gates asking her to point them out so she can batter them 😂

I know others have said it as well but I don't think it can be said too much.

Two of mine go away to college this weekend, one for the first time, and that's why I'm resorting to gallows humour about getting rid of them.

Cheered myself up thinking about only having 7 years left with the wife though 😂

Nice one. Sounds a good un. Bet you never relaxed though while she was in Dubai. I mean properly relaxed and weren’t worrying

Girls can be utterly revolting. Eldest was quite tall and broad when she was at Rivi and her best mate had prominent teeth. The girls called them “Shrek and Donkey”. Her response was “Is that the best you’ve got?” then “Come on, really, is that the best you’ve got?”. Bullies shied away, boys loved her. She’s now a psychologist. She takes after me and my Dad, neither who were bullied and never rose to it. Unfortunately youngest is a right mess and some of it stems from being bullied on social media when she was at Bolton College. 26 and she’s still paying the price

I have two daughters and two stepdaughters

Primary school - angels. They love Daddy and ask for nowt but your love back

Secondary school - move out!! Hormones, boys, booze, fags, drugs, bullying. This is Mrs Rudy’s time to step up

6th form/college - slowly introduce to some pre-match beers and away days and get her interested in BWFC. Get her wearing Adidas and talk nowt but football

Uni/work - empty your bank account and print off statements to show that you have nowt to give. Sell Mrs Rudy’s car/jewellery/her to fund your daughter

Mid to late 20’s - watch her move to Liverpool, get a Man U boyfriend (despite everything you’ve taught her) and then ask for a deposit on a house for them as my eldest has just done

No wonder aliens have never invaded. They’ve seen what female humans are all about and thought fuck that!!

Otherwise it’s ace

Daughters 17 now (Size 6, Walnut whips) and is in 6th form doing her ‘A’ levels this year.

She’s done most of the things you mentioned in your scarily accurate summary, except she’s jumped the gun & already has a Man U boyfriend, even though she’s BWFC thru’ & thru’.

What i find tiresome is the endless lifts in my car everywhere (although we do live out in the sticks a bit tbf) although she’s started driving lessons.

The car will be next.

Then Uni.

Sounds like the real expense is yet to come.

Can’t wait.

It’s what we do.

Anyone under 40 seems to think that “paying keeps” was a quaint old tradition that they used to do in the olden days.

I’ve 2 lads. Both my best friends.
For some reason, we thought our youngest would be a girl. we were going to call her Jennifer.
We were wrong and glad we were. Jennifer is doing very well for himself down under. 😊
I don’t know how I could handle the pressure and worry of girls.

I recently changed my career so I could spend more time with my kids and watch them grow up…..I’m looking at going back to my old job! I don’t get a minute, how the missus did it on her own for so long I’ll never know.

The eldest is now 8, currently playing for 4 teams (2 he’s trialing for) and has something on every night. The 8 years have flown by.

Middle kid has just turned 6, Jui Jitsu twice a week and Football twice a week.

youngest is one and just shits all day.

Absolutely love watching them growing up together and all getting their own little personalities.
