Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Not the time to start bashing prospective managers.

See who we appoint first! :)

If passion made great managers Evatt would be up there, but when the wheels hit the tarmac, he was found lacking.

His inflexibility in recruitment, play style, formation, lack of in game managment, the list could go on.

I'm glad he's gone for both our sakes.

It's sad it came to this but the right decision

Thank you for playing a large part in building the club back up from its foundations and for the day out at Wembley in the EFL Trophy

Didn’t know that thanks anyway.

I hope Sharon's heart is still in it

Could be Mark Warburton he had dealings with Sharon’s group previously .

Can't see it, he's not managed since 2022.

Schumacher is the obvious one for me. Think I would be disappointed with anyone else

builds a solid team, play a decent brand of football and makes them disciplined. That is exactly what this mob Evatt has put together needs.

the Stoke lot I know wish they still had him. Blame is firmly at Walters’ door for that one. That’s enough to tell me he’s the right man

Board must already have their eye or have made enquiries on someone

Fuck it.

Dyche 👀

I'd have Tony Mowbray in any day.

Onwards and upwards now. Be nice to have a united front at Huddersfield on Saturday.

Beyond wishing him well, thats my first thoughts

I'm with you on Schumacher. Think he took over a pretty decent Plymouth team assembled by Lowe. Then didn't really cut it in teh Champ with Stoke.

Nobody cuts it in the champ with Stoke..

Dyche, Schumacher, Edwards.  That’s about it isn’t it? Everyone else now in a job?

Prob first time, but i agree

BN reporting that we're still in the hunt for the Norwegian.

Presumably that's on hold now.

Really is bizarre timing.

Hindsight says he should have gone after Oxford. It was a watershed moment and he was never recovering from it - I do think it was fair that he got another go though considering it had all been upwards before that.

I thought he would take us to the Champ and do well. At one stage him having those shares and being able to fend off Championship clubs that might come looking seemed like a master stroke, and those personal allegations that could have potentially caused us to make a decision we didn’t want to seemed awful.

Unfortunately it slowly started to unravel and the cracks were there well before Oxford. Ultimately his stubbornness and inability to flex his style - not formation, I know he changed that, but overall style of play, disregarding the requirement for some steel in the team and even spouting as recently as last night that he wouldn’t want to watch Charlton every week - was his undoing.

I still think he might end up being successful somewhere, but he’ll have to learn from how this all ended and I’m not sure he’ll want to.

He undoubtedly leaves us in a better position, although it’s hard not to from the rock bottom he took over and the amount of money he’s spent.

Now for a fresh pair of eyes and new energy to take us to the next level.

Hopefully we'll beat Wigan again now

They all have new clubs.

I know, that's that I was as saying, a fair few decent options who might have been up for it had we got rid sooner are now back in work

I'm sort of glad the board gave him every chance possible till he didn't have a leg to stand on, but, it should have come sooner for me and hope we haven't missed out

Cooper

O'Neill

Dyche

Edwards

Though the latter has the same blueprint as evatt

Could there be a possibility Sharon tries to convince Gary O'Neil? Didnt he do some coaching at our place a while back and they're quite pally? Or have I made that up?

Was that not Mark Noble?
