Not when I see pro Palestinian hordes using racist chants and slogans and calling for genocide against Jews being watched over by police with no action. Conversely, a bunch of football lads/'far right'/lunkheads/knuckle draggers whatever you want to call them who just happen to be white skinned are pounced on - sometimes for no reason other than being there. This is not a lie and you know it. Carry on. Things will only get worse when you continue to try to sweep these injustices under the carpet. It certainly won't go away and I very much doubt there will be any reduction. Only escalation. What issues were there at the Tommy rally last week ? If we have 2 tier policing there must be stories from that, lots of them Edited August 3, 2024 by Ani Quote
gonzo Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 People have no idea what has been started here. This isn't going to end well. The genie is out of the bottle. Quote

Interestingly, the policeman was convicted for murder. Racism didn't come into it, and wasn't even pushed for by the prosecution from what I've read. The result we all know about, and that spread across to our shores. Racism didn't come into it because it wasn't a racist attack. Quote

Guest Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 The stuff people seem to be angry about is mostly myth spread by right wing and far right social media echo chambers. Two tier policing is absolute nonsense. I’ve seen it justified by the Leeds riots - yet that was condemned with equal weight and there have been (or had a few weeks back) 27 arrests. It was not ‘just allowed to happen’. People cite Palestinian marches but again where there is disorder arrests are made. What they really mean is ‘if I disagree then people shouldn’t be allowed to protest’. The rally in London the other week - didn’t seem to have much trouble. Nobody banned it or said it shouldn’t be allowed even if we disagreed with it. I’ve seen people cite a long list of political grievances. Including ‘climate change is a hoax and the government need to recognise that’. So it feels more to me like politically motivated violence which there is a word for….especially when the papers have evidence of organisers selling maps of mosques and fireworks - is this 1930’s Germany because it’s hard to distinguish. I also absolutely loathe with a passion those anti racism ‘counter protestors’ who are there with their flags and chants. All these idiots are doing is stoking an already difficult situation further. You don’t defend decency by mimicking the tactics of those you disagree with. Get back home and stop looking for trouble and put your silly flags away. Common decency, respect and tolerance is what this country is built on and I think the clean ups in Southport and Sunderland with communities coming together represent that best. There is a big test here for the government who need to simply face this down. You cannot do anything but stand firm against this. Quote

mickbrown Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 The police need to start cracking heads and the judiciary need to start handing down some serious sentences. These fuckers won’t understand any other course of action. Quote

There were a number of posters on here who were very supportive of the police removing a pro-Israeli protestor from the pro-Palestine protests on the grounds it would be antagonistic who have so far opted not to similarly make the point you make here Quote
mickbrown Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 And I notice they’ve only targeted mosques in place like Southport and Hartlepool. Wonder why they’ve not tried this in Bradford or Birmingham? Quote

As soon as anybody steps out of line, get them arrested, and straight away two weeks in a cell, no trial, just straight to prison. If you're arrested incorrectly, then tough shit. The best way to avoid that, is to stay at home. Any tinderbox type areas, like Stoke and Sunderland seem to be at present, get a curfew in place. If you're caught outside without a legitimate reason (after curfew), then straight to a cell, for two weeks, no trial. Watercannons and Cattle Prods required Quote

Advise people how to operate their protest or whatever within the law. It seems pretty sensible to me. But you know…two tier policing… People at this point will just see whatever they want to. Quote
