I'll keep saying it. Donald Trump is an authoritarian leader - I wouldn't quite call him a fascist - but some of his rhetoric isn't a million miles away. 

And he is systematically stripping away the institutions, checks and balances that have made the US the most successful country in the world. And pivoting it towards who knows what. 

The UK is in a real mess. And we need to rethink who we throw our lot in with. We're largely a service economy -  give it 10 years when AI can do most of the service economy jobs (better and at a fraction of the price) and we REALLY WILL be in trouble. 

Sadly we have a populace that are happy to throw our economic future under the bus if it means that they can labour under the misapprehension than fewer brown people will arrive on small boats, even though we told them at the time that the opposite would happen, and even though the countries birth rate is too low to survive without immigration. 

Still - fewer weird looking people in town so it's not all bad eh? We can all enjoy our poorly paid, manual labour surrounded by our colleagues with pure ayrian skull shapes so, every cloud!

I saw a comment from someone claiming that by his (the US's) proposed actions- the peace plan- then they would be in breach of over 20 treaties/agreements. 

He's not the only one being lilly livered- comments from some senior in the Belgian hierarchy suggest similar, but he is the one who has been the loudest, and "pushing the peace deal".

Either the US is "in" with the necessary support for Ukraine, to help win the peace, or they should indeed back out.

I can only hope that behind the scenes American assistance is unofficially continuing.

The f16s are reportedly getting an upgrade with a rocket system that will allow them to shoot down more Russian drones per sortie, at a much lower cost. This system is American.

It's a big mess.
