dave2980 Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 That would probably depend on what time it kicked off at - the 27th is a bank holiday as Christmas Day is on the Sunday Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 27, 2022 Site Supporter Posted October 27, 2022 Overall, does it matter that much; majority of folk still on holiday Quote

gonzo Posted October 27, 2022 Author Posted October 27, 2022 Did we not play Blackburn on the 27th a few seasons ago? Or was it the 28th? Quote

Seems a long time since we played at home on Boxing Day. Quote
Traf Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Police will love a friday nighter in Lincoln Quote
gonzo Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 Absolute bollocks. I wont be at any. Quote
Site Supporter desperado Posted November 1, 2022 Site Supporter Posted November 1, 2022 I get why people will be pissed off. I’m quite happy with them, especially the Barnsley one, going to Rotherham last year and going back even further, to Preston with a steaming New Years Eve hangover was horrible. Boxing Day and New Years Day can be proper chilled out days now. And its a couple more Xmas holiday days to look forward too Quote

Traf Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 It's 2 days that I wasn't planning to have to spend with the family. Fuming. Quote
Marc505 Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I'll whisper it but physically getting to football on boxing day and NYD is a right ballache. Fantastic day for armchair supporters like. Quote

I'd rather play on Boxing Day, but playing New Years Day never seems right, its a day for recovery. We can look forward to a game the day after now, what else would we do on 2nd Jan? I think we'll take more to Barnsley now, all other things being equal. Plenty other games to watch on TV on Boxing Day and NY Day. Crowd v Derby no longer looking like a potential 25k though. 20k max now I'd say. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Correction not max 20k v Derby, I mean around 20k. If they fill away end its going to be 21k-ish. Quote

Lostock Whites Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 (edited) For me, 27th is doing a world of good. I am down south over Christmas so boxing day wouldn't have been a possibility. I see that some people might no long be able to attend, but surely still a huge crowd to expect, 24,000+ ? We had 22,000 for a regular game vs Sheff weds Edited November 1, 2022 by Lostock Whites Quote
radcliffe white Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Boxing Day usually gets me out of family events😀 Quote
