Our ecological timebomb is at 11.59pm and they are laying the groundwork for a privileged few to go and live there. It would be more feasible for humans to live on the seabed in the southern ocean, round the corner from the Ross Ice Shelf. Mars colonisation is promoted by the likes of Bezos and Musk so we can fuck up this place acquiring then dumping/burning plastic unneeded tiddly-made ephemeral crap bought off them and shipped here in boats responsible for 97.6% of global warming. Musk, however, has took so many designer drugs he now believes his own lies. Edited February 19, 2021 by Youri McAnespie

Perhaps it fucked up the GPS satellite system and flights were grounded.

Dimron
The Rover is going to drill samples for another Rover to collect... I would love to be the second Rover, could you imagine to be sent off to Mars to pick up some samples? Bloody brilliant. Also why is it going to take weeks to get the drone working? The bloody sky is full of them on Boxing Day
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 19, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted February 19, 2021 Some of that sound is reminiscent of blowing across the top of a bottle. Wonder if the wind is passing over the microphone. After yesterday's nasa discussion, I was a bit surprised to hear the higher pitch sounds; I thought it would be a lower pitch noise. Looks 'cloudy' too, wonder if it's ever sunny?

Its 20,000 years overdue an explosion and when they happen properly, life only survives at a microbe level. A massive meteor would be preferable. The Yellowstone thing is utter bollocks. Volcanoes don't erupt on a cyclic timescale, and Yellowstone is most likely dead anyway. https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/yellowstone-overdue-eruption-when-will-yellowstone-erupt?qt-news_science_products=0#qt-news_science_products Edited February 19, 2021 by Cheese

Perseverance hasn't moved yet, so there is no reason there would be tyre tracks behind it. The audio isn't "real" either. Although it makes it even more exciting to see what footage Perseverance sends back. Edited February 19, 2021 by Cheese
