Steejay Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 Apparently, Steve Evans is the new manager at the Gas. Not sure who this guy is, though? Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 A nice Christmas present for Gary Rowett at Oxford. The sack. Did a great job on their budget, good luck to them attracting anyone better. Quote

There isn't one bit of me that dislikes Oxford though, we could have played any L1 side that day and lost, it just happened to be them. If I'm grateful for one thing its that it was Oxford rather than a Stockport or Blackpool or even Barnsley etc. Anyway, Rowett will get another job and do well as usual, but probably in L1 now. Quote

They were 7th when they sacked him (replaced by Zola). Got Derby to championship play offs; he was poor at Stoke like everyone else and guilty of signing Benik Afobe. Had Millwall punching above their weight, in/around top half championship, for 3 consecutive years. Got Oxford from the relegation zone in Dec last season to finish 17th. Dropped into relegation zone now for the first time under him after a year. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 There are clubs I dislike more than Oxford but I’d love to see them relegated and back in the lower leagues where they belong because I’ll never get past that Wembley defeat and the stamp on Paris that put him out and completely changed the game. desperado Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 I’d like Oxford and Blackburn to stay up. They can go down next year when we’ve beaten them in the Championship 😊 Quote

Waa shagging a woman for a while and her ex husband was on Oxford fan He hated my guts but I was happy with it as I was shagging his missus and we beat them them 5-0 so all was good Then I stopped shagging her and we lost at Wembley So now I hate Oxford as I know he still hates me Quote

Dare I say Parky - only ever seems to be in charge of a team that's a relatively big fish (financially and/or size of club). Rowett had Burton, Oxford, Millwall, all half the size of their competitors at a guess. The other thing in his favour is that he's got longevity, plenty of managers have a great couple of seasons and live off that reputation for ages, he has done mostly good jobs since 2012. As Parky has to be fair to him. Quote
gonzo Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Parky has a got a tremendous CV all things considered. He won't be short of work when Wrexham get bored of him and want a big name. Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 I don't think he'll be short of a few bob with over 3 years of his contract remaining. Laughable how naive Vale were, great that they had a shared long term vision (for Moore). https://www.port-vale.co.uk/news/2024/february/port-vale-fc-appoint-darren-moore-as-manager Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Moore seems a nice guy but never a manager. Quote

A trusty assistant or overseeing football operations etc, never came across as a manager type and it always surprises me when he gets a job (even though he's got promotions on his CV, to go with the relegations).
