We were our own worst enemies. I had the feeling that if we could get a goal back then we would play without fear, forget controlled football, go for it and who knows? Every time we started to get going we ballsed it up with a basic error. Anyway, changes made and we’re back in it. The Swedes are looking a bit tired. 🤞🤞

I've slowly changed my opinion on women's football. Used to slag it off for all the well muted negative points. But you cannot compare it to the mens/boys/ Sunday league standard. So accepting the difference for me is key.

In the name of equality, the funding and their pay has increased. The media popularity forces it upon us. Despite the elephant in the room, thay aren't men, so impossible to compare their game.

An equal comparison, my 1990's Sunday league team would batter England.

The one change for me that I think would improve the quality without it being made to look like a lesser product would be to reduce the size of the nets.

Outfield players are improving at an amazing rate but it’s still all too easy to see a ball just floated into the net over the keeper, which cheapens the whole product because it just gives an easy stick to beat the game with.

On average, men are about 10% taller than women, it’s a genetic fact. If they reduced the height and width of the nets by 10% - for no other purpose than reflecting the genetic difference to men - then I’m convinced you’d see a better overall product with little reasoning against it.

It must have been considered by the powers that be. Maybe it’s just me that thinks it’s a sensible solution to the keeper issue.

Iirc, we've been here before Eddie.

Reasonable idea.

Very possibly, it’s been annoying me for a while because I think it’s just sensible and shouldn’t be controversial.

Probably up for the women in the game to decide mate. Wonder what their views are. I assume many wouldn’t want to change it.

You’re right though, standards have improved so much but the keepers are often too easily beaten.

Issue at left back was glaringly obvious v France, Swedes easily exploited it.

But the back 4 v France has been changed positionally?

Carthorse played that game at LB, didnt she, Greenwood at LCB

Totally agree, but that's sexist.

It has, don't think the ponderous start helped, some loose, sloppy playing around at the back invited pressure. Where have we seen that before 🤔
