Carlisle town centre is a great day out, loads of pubs and eaterie's, last time we were there (with Athy Colls for a pre season friendly) there were 2 hen parties, one from South Shields and one from Scotland the town was buzzing

It is now athy to be fair but much has changed since the 70’s. The pubs were owned by the council and businesses tightly controlled by the local commerce chamber which wouldn’t allow competition. There were no supermarkets because local shops couldn’t compete and when I was selling my house all the state agents and solicitors charged the same prices.

If you weren’t a local people shunned you until they got to know you they were that peroquial. Thankfully it’s all changed now and I have to admit that Carlisle is much better for it.

No guarantees with any signing. They only become good/bad in hindsight.

I wont mention Haaland at City, poor signing, no guarantees! Lets go to our league. Alfie May 6 in 9 for Charlton, JCH 4 in 9 for Peterbro.  And your mate Lundlu? You certainly are the master of talking shit!  Perhaps they wont fit into Evatts system, whatever that is?

We're not in the market for a proven chap like Haaland.

May wanted to go closer to home.

Your Peterborough mon was already there and not available.

None of us are overly impressed with Dan as yet and we are aware of the issues, but your examples of "alternatives" are just plain daft.

Money talks!  May? closer to home from where? JCH, offer of 800,000 accepted from Bristol Rovers, just didnt get the deal over the line. Simple question? Dan, Victor, or these two?

May is from Kent

And is it not telling BR were the only club to get close to a deal...yknow, for a proven goalscorer

We haven't spent 800k, so again, why pap on about a bloke who almost certainly isn't available to us?

You clearly missed all the discussions about May, so again, have a read back.

Weve spent 500 on Victor and 300 on Dan. Not really good at maths but im sure that adds up to 800,000 grand, plus jeromes contract! Have a read back!

And mcanthony, who i have no time for, casts serious doubt on what was actually offered

An interesting comment too, about ferguson being tied to a way of playing with JCH on the books

Dan is starting to do my head in.

No questioning his physicality, workrate, short passing or commitment but his control is woeful at times and he doesn't seem to have natural striker instincts i.e. he's not greedy enough. Thought he was getting better in recent games but last night it was back to square 1.

Thing is he's 24 now so I'm struggling to see how much more he can improve on those basic striker skills and scoring instincts. I suspect he's had his style drilled into him as a youth player and maybe he has to "unlearn" some of that?

He's just rubbish. If it was movement that was the issue he can learn that, but a good touch is something you either have or don't as a 24 year old.

He could have a role as a pacy winger if we ever changed formation but in this formation I don't think he's capable of doing anything and needs selling ASAP.
