noxid
Cambridge a poor team. Wish we could have got a third but a win is a win. Think we can beat anyone on the day but also capable of losing to anyone. That's sport. Showing my age but still think we are missing a 'real' centre forward type player who throws himself into that five yard box, has an instinct for the direction of crosses and anticipates any kind of deflection. Maybe they don't exist anymore. Really hope that Dion is back for Barnsley. A win and we're back on track.

TM Trotter
1 hour ago, victor meldrew said: See that’s what is great about football, people have different opinions about the game. i see it completely different to casino and others, we have the ability and talent to have walked this league , but have a stubborn  manager who won’t change and it has cost us to many lost points to win the league, don’t fancy us in the playoffs You're suggesting we're a gnat's cock off 2nd in spite of Evatt rather than fundamentally because of the culture he's built into the playing side of the club since he walked through the door? Can't agree with that for a second.

I doubt more than 4-5 of the current squad are good enough. We are about where we should  with the players we have. To realistically suggest Evatt is doing a bad job is fucking demented. We’re third with 11 games left.

Can't agree with that for a second. I'm with TM. We've all had our moans but IE has built up a great team culture and team spirit and even in the (comparatively) dark days it's been an upward curve. Without Evatt and his forward thinking we'd be nowhere near where we are now. Frustrating as fuck sometimes mind.

TrickyTrotter
Maybe not a popular view, but I thought there were loads of positives today: Tempo particulalry in the first half so much better. Collins best game for us so far, more to come hopefully. Loads of really good chances created - not all finished to be fair. Tommo had a great game, his shooting has improved immeasurably. Ogbeta, Maghoma and Vic decent - the God squad. Yes they were poor, but a confidence giving win.

Can't agree with that for a second. Me neither. We do have a good squad - assembled by him- but so do others. How on earth one squad can be considered so superior to another top team's I don't know. Several clubs have spent a bit, and accrued a decent clutch of players, some even from the league above. That said, I think there are some justified criticisms at times. As for whether the squad could cope with the championship: it's immaterial. No one knows who we'd still have and who would be brought in, let alone which ones would make the step up. We've built season on season- as FV intended- and if we did the same in the championship, reaching the play-offs in the second season, we'd be pretty happy.

Mutley
Thoroughly professional performance from start to finish. Cannot really ask for a more convincing home win. crowd still not happy just can’t win every game 6-0. Arrested development
When teams play the low block you've got to find ways of getting in behind. Maghoma can be frustrating but he has ability to beat a man and create overloads and we need players like that. The second goal was because he made it happen by beating a man and playing a great through ball. We need to do more of that when teams sit back. Would be nice to see some midfield runners going beyond the strikers every now and again. Sheehan has that ball in his locker but we never seem to have any runners from deep.
